I don’t mind the bezels. I hate the notch. But get rid of the damn Touch Bar. And make 16GB RAM standard. Otherwise I’m sticking with my M1 Air.
Yeah, I really hated the notch at first but got used to it super quick. I really love having the extra screen real estate and most of the time I use an app called TopNotch to hide the notch (making the entire menu bar black).

Despite all the criticism… every time i see this machine at an apple store i appreciate it… theres just something about it. Maybe its the classic design and its proportions… the touch bar.

I almost bought it over my macbook air M2 and i doubt id have been regretfull 🤔🤔

Given the comments on the RAM and Storage options... we all know Apple deliberately hindered the starting specs specifically to tack on upgrade costs. If you start out at 256 GB of storage, you can sensibly demand $200 to bump it up to 512 GB. Then to double that again it's only another $200. Start out with 512 GB storage and this is actually good enough for most people that they wouldn't need to upgrade, thus Apple loses out on upgrade options that are outrageously expensive for what they are.

Unless/until Apple's 'base' configuration becomes outrageously expensive compared to its competitors, Apple is going to keep its base stats as low as they can get away with.

Apple wins on customers, though
