Their keyboards have a similar bonehead flaw that Apple did with their 'Magic' mouse; they only work wirelessly, despite having a USB-C connection, it is only used to charge. WTF.

EDIT: der, my brain has a case of the Fridays. You're talking about the keyboards (clue in the second word, sorry my brain didn't parse that far initially!)

Do they also have the USB port on the bottom? I mean if it doesn't work while charging I guess it doesn't matter if the port is on the bottom, but still -- how absurd lol.

Logitech's K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard was their peak of perfection. Wish they still made it.

I bought a couple extra stock. They last me about 7 years of daily use each and one even longer than that (sometimes a cell battery replacement works, sometimes not). In the meantime, no charging or maintenance needed. They feed off of both daylight and artificial light.

Been using that G305 gaming mouse for a couple years now. I'm not a gamer, but it's hands down (lol) the best mouse I've ever used. Feather light, and tracks very very precisely. I get about 6 months out of a rechargable AA. And for a gaming mouse, it also looks normal on your desk and doesn't have any corny-ass lighting or whatever. I know the gamers use the DPI switch for... something? but I use it to temporarily dial in a very slow speed if I have to do something super fiddly in Illustrator or Photoshop. Works very nicely.

My only beef with it is that somehow, in the year of our lord 2023, Logitech still does not manufacture a USB-C wireless adapter.

I wish someone made a ultra-low profile keyboard like Apple's magic keyboard in a compact size (no numpad and cursor keys shifted over like on laptops) WITHOUT the stupid FN key in the bottom left corner! Seriously, when I'm gaming, that spot is ALWAYS reserved for CTRL, which is crouch in any FPS game. Closest keyboard I've been able to find is the Keychron K3 with Optical Red switches and the Vissles LP85; however both have different switches and the Vissles is much louder having that high pitched CLICK sound rather than 'THOCK' sound Apple's Magic keyboard has.

Honestly, there's so many choices for keyboards and nothing to suit my needs.

I bought the Satechi Slim X1 but its also got the damn FN key in the wrong place and the keys feel a bit mushier than Apple's. Will probably return it, though it looks amazing in Space Gray/Black colours (and cheaper than Apple). Works wired/wirelessly too.

Actually the time to buy Logictech gaming mice, other accessories is Black Friday sale at BB. This is more their regular Mice and Keyboards. I like the 502 Hero line and I see a SE I paid $30 going for $72 right now. Pays to know what the pricing of it has been if you compare year around pricing variances on Amazon using camelcamelcamel for same product. But yes as this article points out they do have some good sales at times. BB is very good at price matching.

Where would you put the port on the Magic Mouse? (I agree it looks silly.) Like the mouse has died. ;)

On the back end like my current one which works with both PC and Apple. Just like the old days when mice had wires.

I get your point but Jony Ive made that impossible. A lot of times, when things are designed, some features are given more thought. I'm guessing that after the physical design was looked at and they realized there was no access point for a charging point, they just said "screw it, put it on the bottom".

My pet peeve is how an iMac has to be sliced open to get at the guts. Screws would have made it much more serviceable but Jony doesn't like screw holes. They would spoil the lines of the back of my computer.

The back of your computer is the front for many who use this computer (e.g. a reception desk). However, I agree screws would still be better. They don't have to look bad. Or the one-piece back could have wrapped the sides and the screws could have been on the sides.

Yes but I wonder who they are trying to impress with a clean back. I'm guessing that the newer flat iMacs are the same. Again, serviceability on the iMac is a major pain.
