Call me when it is $50. This is nice for travel, but pretty crappy for a nightstand device. Instead I bought the Material Dock from Studio Neat. This makes it so I never miss the charging puck, but don't have to push the charger down when I pick up my phone. Also looks way nicer.
While quite nice looking, the Material dual dock is $48 by itself. To have a second phone/watch charging solution I'd have to add the MagSafe ($39) and Watch ($29) charge pucks and, say, a third party dual USB-C wall charger ($20+) or two Apple chargers ($38). The combination is definitely sturdier than the Duo and good for desk or bedside but at that price point I'd rather have the Belkin 3-in-1. For a portable solution I would consider the Duo instead of the Material.

But even at $99 I find the Duo still overpriced based on reviews I've read. I would consider purchasing it at < $80 and only when I'm back on the road much more frequently.

I’ve been using consoles since the days of the NES. Never has a headset been bundled with any kind of mainstream base console system
You’ve never owned an Xbox then. PlayStation 4s came with earbuds too.

Super heavy traveller here that has a wide-range of Apple products, but I too find Apple’s pricing on this to be insulting as well. It should be priced at $79 without a power adapter or $99 with a power adapter.

Out of principal, I will not buy it.
Sure, it's over-priced. I might have rolled my eyes when I clicked buy.

But it's still an obvious choice to replace my Magsafe and Apple Watch charger in one neat package that will slip into my tech bag and take up minimal space in my hotel room and coworking space.

Belkin's 3-in-1 and the Magsafe Duo simply aren't competing products.

Anyone with a fixed work area should buy the 3-in-1.

But for travel, there's really no contest.

Right! The Genesis was the first to screw you out of the second controller.

A few years later, it was bye-bye included game also.
I remember having to buy an extra controller AND adapter just to play multi-player on the TurboGrafx-16. Good thing I was the only one who liked that system.

I know this has been out a while but I STILL can’t figure out the price on this thing.

A MagSafe charger is $40. An Apple Watch charger is $30. Total: $70. This thing is $130- a whopping $60 more than buying them separately.

You are quite literally paying 60 bucks for the convenience of being able to fold this thing up and having a single cord instead of 2. That’s it. It doesn’t even come with the brick.

Usually bundling products together is cheaper than buying them separately.

I’m a heavy traveler. I travel for work and leisure multiple times per year (under normal circumstances). I also have an iPhone 12 and Apple Watch. This should be the product for me. I am *the* target audience. But $130 is insulting and I will gladly take a few seconds to wrap up my cords and toss it in a suitcase instead of paying for this. At the VERY least, price it at $99 standard.

okay, rant over.
Wait until you go to a mall and realize some clothing brands cost more than others...I don’t think you’re ready for that level of shock

Only Apple would sell a phone charger for $100. Their profit margin on this has got to be over 90%.

This is a $29.99 charger.

This is an immediate buy for me with this ~23% discount, but I absolutely was not willing to buy unless we had gotten at least 20% off. Thankfully I already have a 130w usb-c charger so I’ll probably be able to get the maximum 14w efficiency. Or even if I can’t, the size of this can’t be beat.

I actually prefer that the phone sticks, I have come a bit too close recently to my phone slipping off of my Mophie Qi charger. I’m looking forward to prying it off, I’d rather that than a slippery phone that falls if I’m not super careful in the dark just before bed.

I could totally use this as I find it a pain having extra wires and plugs to charge my watch and phone.

But not for this price. I would pay no more than $50 for this, even then, it's a lot.

Love mine! This is a terrific price for a useful and well designed accessory.

Magsafe Duo is a great option for perpetual travellers.

If you live in one place, this product's not for you.

I live out of a suitcase and out of hotel rooms/apartments - so it's perfect for me.

A fancy Belkin nightstand statue has no place in my suitcase.
I mostly live in one place but it's definitely still for me as I value its minimalist design and can't stand the Belkin-type shrines. I will find it very useful for when I do leave home.

That analogy makes zero sense. I’m comparing Apple’s *own chargers*. Not two different brands. Although I guess it’s easier to make a quippy comment than understand the breakdown and reasoning I was going for.

I would buy this at $19.99, not a cent more. That is how much I value this product.
That's unfortunate. I understand that it's pricey, but I find it an elegant solution. And despite still considering it pricey — indeed over-priced — I remain very glad that I plunked down the cash to simplify my nightstand and my bedtime routine.

I really like this type of charger. I have the original disc-shaped Apple charging dock for my watch, and it's one of my favorite accessories. It's one of very few docks that easily adapts from nightstand mode orientation to a flat orientation, and it does both with nice padding for the watch. This one keeps that idea and adds MagSafe, which seems perfect for anyone who uses nightstand mode on their watch, likes the padded protection, and also wants MagSafe phone charging.

Beyond price (and I agree the original asking price for this is excessive), my only negative comment is that I wish the port were on the side (ideally one on either side), rather than where it is. That's because it has to sit sideways on your nightstand if you are using it for nightstand mode.

I really do like the execution of this product, but Apple is way out of their league with this price. There’s so many competitor products that offer other alternatives that may not be necessarily just as ‘convenient’ with a folding design, but at a price point that’s not ridiculous either. Most Consumers just aren’t going to pay that price for dual-compatibility, when they would rather have separate units that can be had for far less.

I'd probably like this more if I were traveling again, but even then, I'd still rather have a portable battery unit with Qi and integrated Watch charger.

Now this is a product I have not heard of since it was announced.

Anybody have one and like it?
Have it, love it. Of course, I got it at a discount, and I didn't buy an extra charger. If you have an extra Macbook charger sitting around, which I do, that works. Also, when traveling, I just take the one charging brick for my macbook, and plug it into the duocharger at night. Probably not worth the money for some, but the convenience and having to pack half the stuff i used to has been nice. Instead of watch charger, phone charger, two power adapters, and macbook charger, now it's just macbook charger and duocharger.
Also, I happen to have a bedside lamp that has a metal base, so this thing sticks to the base. Otherwise, I can imagine it'd be pretty annoying that the the duocharger stays attached to the phone every time you want to pick it up.

I'm not concerned so much on the price.... as a frequent traveler, I keep things to a minimum and size matters.

I travel with:

MacBook Pro USB- C
iPad Pro - USB-C
AirFly Pro - USB-C
iPhone - Lightning
AirPods Pro - Lightning
AirPods Max - Lightning

Three connections of each.

I carry:
USB-C Short w/Lightning adapter
USB-C Long w/Lightning adapter
Watch/AirPod Charger (Satechi)
USB-C -Extension (Short for Satechi) *But generally in the iPad or Mac C port)
USB-C Female to USB-A (just in case I need a A port")
Anker Mag Battery
MoPoint 100W GaN with UK/EU Travel Adapters
Apple Aux Cable for AirPods Max

All in this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078RGG1B2/ref=twister_B07C5M8BJV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The Duo would work for the phone, but not in a bag or backpack. Maybe on a plane in Business, but too unwieldy anywhere else.

Maybe at home, but IMHO it looks a bit janky. We have really nice furniture, the MoPoint stand looks clean.

I ended up ordering one. It seems like the people here who own it like it or find it useful.

It's pricey, but I planning on traveling quite a bit over the next year or so and I can already see it coming in handy.

If there was similar product (designed for travel) by a reputable brand for cheaper, I'd spring for that. But every similar knockoff seems to have pretty poor reviews.

I had a $200 Apple gift card burning a hole in my pocket... I already had all of the accessories I needed so I decided to try one of these.... I ended up falling in love with it. I have it on my nightstand and it looks nice and minimalistic just the way I like it. its very functional... It may look cheap but it feels very premium.... I love the functionality, it was awesome to travel with as I took it with me on a trip.... I already had an Anker USB C atom slim charger laying around in one of my drawers so I use that... and it plays in to the portability theme since its nice and slim for traveling. Anyway thats just my 2 cents.... would I have bought it had I not had that gift card? probably not as I was just as appalled by the price as most of you. But since i did, I do really like it.

It doesn't charge my phone through it's Quad Lock case, which I find exceptionally frustrating. The QR charger in my wife's car works through my case with no problems. I don't want to take off the case constantly. For that reason I would say 2 stars.

The convenience of the watch portion and build quality are nice. I like the compact size for travel.

I bought a $16 knockoff from China that works just as well and is of decent quality but keep telling yourself that $130 price was justified. Even for the apple markup, this should have been in the 50-80 range.
