Apple's new AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C/MagSafe Charging Case haven't even launched yet, and Amazon already has a $49 discount on the earbuds. You can get them for $199.99, down from $249.00 as a pre-order on Amazon.

This is a very quick discount on the new AirPods Pro 2, matching one of the most consistent deals we've tracked for most of the year on the Lightning/MagSafe Charging Case model. The new AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C/MagSafe Charging Case will launch on Friday, September 22.

There are a few minor changes to the AirPods Pro 2 besides the addition of USB-C, including additional dust resistance and support for lossless audio with the Vision Pro headset. Apple doesn't sell the USB-C/MagSafe Charging Case separately, so if you want USB-C support you'll have to purchase a full new set of earbuds.

I’m curious as to how much better the ANC is on these vs. the original pros. I always hear “up to 2x better”, but is that true? Very tempting.

I have both and honestly, I’m hard pressed to detect any differences in ANC or sound quality. The increased battery life is noticeable though!

I wish I was one of those people that can walk around with these all day long and they never fall out. I have tried so many times to use these but just can't make them stay in my ears when I'm walking around or outside.
Same. The noise cancelling is phenomenal for a few minutes, but I had to fiddle with them constantly. Once I found myself shopping for accessories, all with mixed reviews, in order to make them usable...I came to the conclusion it was time to take them back.

I love my airpod pro 2 (lightnings)

They work well with normal ears and don’t fall out.

Too bad they don’t sell the case separately.

I’m so over lightning.
You can buy them as „replacement“ item when you „lost“ yours - here in Germany they charge 119€ for it

When the last set came out I thought, “eh I don’t need the new features, I have the original AirPods Pro” And then they immediately went on sale for $50 off everywhere so I jumped on them. But those really had several big improvements: the speakers in the case, the MagSafe/Watch charging, improved noise cancelation. I can skip the current version no matter how low the price goes because the main upgrade is USB-C and I charge mine almost exclusively wirelessly.

When I upgraded from APP1 to APP2 I was massively impressed both by how much better they sounded and how superior the noise cancellation was in most instances. About the only area where it falls down is when in a very strong wind (I live in the high desert so when listening to podcasts when walking to my mailbox in a 20-30 knot wind the noise is prominent, but I do not need to raise the volume to compensate).

Honestly it's so convenient. It's a proper low key superpower to not mind it in the ears all day and have it stay in

At launch they absolutely were. They were as good if not better than my OG's at launch... and then Apple nerfed them with a firmware update just like my OG's.
I can see why some people could find the NC almost oppressive, because when they kick on it's almost like dropping into a sensory deprivation tank, but when I'm on a plane or riding the rail, that's EXACTLY what I want. None of this would be an issue if Apple just allowed us to adjust the level of NC from within the control panel, but once again Apple's One Size Fits all BS ruins the experience for more advanced or demanding users like me.
