I just bought the lightening model from Amazon last week thinking if they came out with a USB-C version it wouldn’t be so highly discounted plus I almost always charge my AirPods Pro wirelessly. I’m going to go ahead and return them. Even though I’ll still wirelessly charge them 99% of the time if the price is the same why not since lighting is on the way out.

Well crud. Apple just shipped my pre-order. I didn't think they'd be discounted so much so soon.

But with apple you have the option of engraving. I always engrave AirPods and Pencils with a phone number. I still believe in people…

Great! I have a thousand dollars worth of perfectly good Airpods sitting on my shelf with shot batteries, so I guess the obvious solution to my problem is… buy more Airpods?

I have both and honestly, I’m hard pressed to detect any differences in ANC or sound quality. The increased battery life is noticeable though!

I also have both (just got the USB C version) and the difference is massive. In fact, I can't believe how big a difference there is. The sound quality is night and day. the new ones are far fuller and rich. The ANC works far better as well.

I do wonder if it has something to do with how old my Gen 1s are. I got them at launch.
