Target is heading into the weekend with an all-new sale on Apple's HomePod smart speaker, now priced at $199.99, down from the original price of $299.99. At $100 off, this sale is the lowest we've ever seen on a brand new HomePod, and the best deal on the speaker so far in 2019.

Figures I just purchased a JBL Charge 4 on Wednesday. I think I will return that to Amazon and pick this up for the extra 100.00. Way worth it at this price point. I am guessing a new one won't be out for a while still so now is the time.

Siri is the worst thing about this speaker. Apple really needs to overhaul Siri, shortcuts while a semi stop gap still doesn’t fix the lack of ability and HomeKit is hot garbage. I can’t decide which is worse Siri or HomeKit.

Siri is indeed garbage, except Siri shortcuts which are awesome. HomeKit is excellent IMO.
My entire apartment is HomeKit and it works beautifully.
What’s your issue with it?

Pulled the trigger on a white one. Now I can put both of my Sonos 1 speakers in the family room in stereo and use the HomePod in the bedroom.

I hope Apple stumbles significantly across product lines based on their pricing. Their general approach to premium pricing is getting out of hand and I’d like to see adjustments.

What’s your issue with it?

My issue with HomeKit is limited compatibility with products. The interface, and the setup. If the setup lags you have to wipe out your idevice and then try again and you have to do this with each device.

Did they ever fix the single user problem with HomePod? I heard it’s suppose to try recognize the voice speaking but is still problematic if no voice profile is recognized.

It’s not an upgrade from a Sonos

Sound wise it actually is. The Sonos sounds good but the HomePod is definitely closer to a full range system. We compared both in the studio.
I’m only talking about the sound, not the ‘intelligent’ features.
