Thanks for the info. I was wondering if there was a standard for world time. So for me, or at least in the Los Angeles slice of the pie, that's 9 hours and 52 minutes away or so.
What is the protocol, do we have to hit the mayan time zone for the world to end? And does the end happen at midnight or sometime within the 24 hours? I wish these people gave instructionsGosh, the world didn't end.

It's not based on a day, but rather the solstice which is December 21th at 11:12 UTC.

So it's just over 3 hours for this anticipated day to hit US shores. The skies are free of falling debris and there are no big storms headed to the eastern seaboard. There's nothing big for New York and the big event fizzled like the Yankees in the 2012 mlb playoffs.
Guys it obvious... as the Mayans could predict the end of the world they obviously knew about Greenwich Mean Time and would have set it to that. It's only 8:43 GMT. Don't get complacent yet, especially as its oddly mild here this December morn'!
looks like end of world is cancelled. I'm going home now; if the world still end please not during my dinner. That would be such a waste.
