Normally this would be cake, but my temporary work location might not allow it (I don't get my 15 min walks)... 4.7 miles a day 14 times.

Does it give you monthly challenges? I don’t believe so.
Apparently yes! It does!

Here’s my December challenge:

IMG_0775.jpeg

It’s in Spanish, my mother language. It says: “Win this price/challenge by reaching your daily (movement) goal 6 times. You’ve done it 1 time so far this month”. I think it’s a pretty easy challenge but this month I wasn’t planning to walk a lot, to be honest.

So, am I welcome on the thread even if I don’t have an Apple Watch? :p

Sure why not. I don’t think it used to give you challenges without a watch. But maybe they updated it. Anyway I need 10 more minutes of exercise to hit my daily goal of 110 minutes for my monthly challenge. Will do that later.

I think we need to have a vote about this request ;)

kidding aside - how does the iPhone determine your move goal and if you achieve it? with the AW it's calories burnt and it determines that from the heart rate measured. How does the iPhone do that?
and I do know that iPhone tracks your steps ... but there is no workout app on iOS, so how does move, exercise, stand work with iPhone alone?

Edit, found this:

I´m have an easy one... 5 running workouts for 5min... so its very easy for me....

I miss challenges for steps like i had 2 years ago i think.... "take 400.000 steps this month" i liked them. Hoping that Apple will bring them back.
Agreed. I liked the accumulative ones. Where you could push yourself and see the daily total you need to hit come down little by little each day.
These challenges of late are lame.

A tough one, considering I live in the Northern Emisphere not too close to the sea: 9 open water swims of at least 5 minutes. I didn’t have too many open water swims lately, mainly pool swims.
Had two pool swims and they counted towards the goal. Only problem with the festivities I have 8 pool swims planned, not 9, should go one more time.
