if you're not happy with it and you have time to return it, then go for it!
it's your toy - don't listen to anyone else!

I still can not believe there are still people saying these defect do not exist when there are clearly plenty of pics to prove these multiple screen tinting. Having had a pink screen before, it's extremely bothersome when you're trying to read and more than 70% of websites have a white background!

If PDF documents were not white, no white websites and ebooks did not have have a white background then perhaps I'd consider keeping a tinted iPad but it looks like 98% of what I do on iPad, the tint will be glaringly obvious!

Ps I'm happy I finally have a white, non tinted iPad.

After six unsatisfactory iPads, I decided to wait a bit and go for lucky number seven; only it wasn't so lucky. It has about an inch and a half worth of light leaking at the top, which is staring right at me when the iPad is on my desk in front of me. It also has a weird screen, with pink/green/yellow tinting in random locations. A bit of a different issue than my other iPads.

I've had multiple build weeks and it really doesn't matter what you get. There's no such thing as a perfect new iPad. All of my other Apple products, and I've owned a ton, have been perfect except for this. I'm afraid it looks like we're all going to have to settle for something not so stellar, or save our money this time around. I've had a couple without the light leaking but for a 'resolutionary' screen, they've all had some type of issue. It's disappointing. :(

why the hell cant you have them check this before you leave the store? Seven iPads, you sure you want people to know youve been duped 7 times?

Fixed: Mine's perfect or Mine is perfect.

Fixed: "...mine doesn't have..."

Mines = bombs that blow up when you step on them

Thank you. I also hate having to read posts like the one above.

Now that you finally realize that there is no perfect iPad, in your eyes, do us a favor and move on to another product! No way Apple can make you happy, deal with it.

If I ever had to return an Apple product twice, I would have never, EVER bought another Apple product again, and I mean it. Why do you insist on getting a 7th iPad if you are not happy?

Look at something else, or wait for iPad 4.

I have no light bleed, no different colored hues on the screen, not one dead pixel, no yellow tinge, doesn't get too warm, wifi works.

1st one I got direct from local Apple store. Huh. :p

I think the 5th return would've signaled it for me that owning an iPad just isn't in the cards.

What amazes me is how there are these cells of very unlucky individuals who go through 5, 6... a dozen devices and can't find a suitable one, while others end up with a "just right" one on the first try, or even get one that's fine after the first, maybe even second exchange.

Mine is "just right," and it was so on the first try. No light leaks, no dead pixels, the color temperature is just right for me. Maybe I'm just extremely lucky. Or maybe my standards are low, though given my own propensity for OCD, I really doubt that.

I'm afraid it looks like we're all going to have to settle for something not so stellar...

We? You got a mouse in your pocket?

Mine, and pretty most everybody else's, is fine. You're on number 7. That stretches credulity and suggests that the problem isn't with the iPad.

You need to see a psychiatrist. It is an iPad. Do you have similar issues with other things you buy?

No actually, not even with used vehicles. This is the only product I've ever had issues with, and I'm an early adopter of many tech products.

My question to you is "Are you perfect?" No flaws at all, or are you like all other things on this planet flawed in some way? It is the flaws that make us who we are, I say embrace the flaws and love life for what it is , a great and wonderfully flawed journey.

Or you could just be miserable, its your life. Good luck

My first (32GB) from launch day had 5 dead pixels. I replaced it with a 64GB and have had no problems (other than the fact that I paid so much for the device than I was planning).

I have a perfect iPad because i haven't checked if my iPad has any of those problems (light bleed, yellow tint, etc). It looks fine to me, serves my purpose, and I'm happy using it. What more can you ask for!!!

Paranoia... it kills.

the one in the pics looks bad (light bleed) but what was wrong with the other 6? Seriously asking....

Funny, that's exactly what my fat redneck 3rd cousin thinks of McDonald's.

Well, some day, everyone will feel the same way you do about Apple. But by then, there will be some new company who caters to people who want a bit more than "fast food" computers and devices.

Keep lowering the bar people.

I returned number six this evening - thought long and hard about another as there was plenty of stock and for the first time ever with an Apple product actually couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Maybe in a month or two. Bad show Apple. I really hope we won't be remembering this as a trigger for a fall in a few years time. And yeah fanboys go for it.

I registered just throw in my hat.

New Ipad.

Top of screen is yellow.
Bottom of the screen is pink.
Looks like the odds are against me in exchanging. I'm gonna call support tomorrow.
700$ for a nice pink screen. Super happy about it.

No prior research. Simply reading a web page and wow, the bottom looks pink, get online and find stuff like this. In no way was I searching for problems. I've even found it evidenced in official reviews where app logos are definitely pink.

Well one could argue that Apple already is the McDonald's of the computer world in terms of the volume they sell. Back when they were just a small niche (very profitable) company they still had quality issues. My first Powerbook's HD died in 2 months. Apple has never been a perfect company IMO and I always felt their quality was suspect in some ways. Their design however is second to none.

Apples strength has been innovation and addressing customer needs before we know what we need. When did they become known as the company who makes flawless products? My current iPad is acceptable as far as my needs but I'm sure it's not perfect to some people here. I don't see any obvious flaws. But if Apple were anything but McDonald's at this point, would an iPad cost $499 and up? Would they not be more expensive if one should expect perfection 100% of the time? Aston Martin vs. Jaguar?

I have a week 14 as well and mine doesn't have those issues. Are you happy? Damn. Its an online forum, who gives a crap how we type.

The answer is the cost to manufacturer and cost for the consumers. It's all down to money Apple is after.

To get pristine build quality and QC the manufacturing cost will have to go up by several times. Expect to see a 16GB iPad for $2500.

Please don't get mad. It was hilarious. I have been laughing the whole time in the communication between you and the other person. I actually thank you for making that post so we can laugh. I mean it. No pun intended.
