Love this. I hear you— I was sorely tempted to buy a 13 Pro in green. I believe they call it “Alpine Green” and it’s slightly lighter but I do hope they eventually go back to that Midnight shade because it was so perfect.
I had an 11 Pro - I traded up to a 13 mini just to get that small chassis. Losing the midnight green was my only real regret about that move.

Yeah that is still my favorite iPhone to date. Now I have definitely contemplated selling my Blue Mini 128GB and “upgrading” to a Green Mini with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The Apple Store rep who helped me today said that Deep Purple is by far the most popular color this release.

You mean I'm not the only one that does that?
I had plan to skip this year, and while visiting family went to a shopping center twice that had Apple stores. Having a look in store to find something solid enough over my current to make me buy, just couldn't find anything.

Thinking back I really miss the Slate of the iPhone 5, that would get me buying a 'black' colour again.

Were any of you who returned it using the iPhone Upgrade Program? I am not a big fan of the purple either and want to swap to a different color but I don't know if the Apple Store will do a swap, and if they do how big of a pain in the butt it is going to be. Thanks!
Slight pain, have to close old loan ; open new loan then wait for delivery if not in stock

Anybody got Deep Purple and returned? for me looking with a distance it don't look that different from space black or space gray, is not like the Sierra Blue from last year that had some impact... deep purple feels boring
I saw them in the shop and the back of the purple phone looked fine, for sure I could live with it, but the edge is way too shiny, in my opinion it's beyond tacky and I see it attracting too much attention.

I thought it was just the gold one that was supposed to be tacky but they went full blast this year except for the black one, which looks weird, like the edge is painted with nail polish.

And what's with the hard edge design, I cannot hold the thing without it digging into my hands. I don't understand this, the X was beautiful, why ruin a good thing?

That's how the Deep Purple iPhone looks in the sun with a clear "glitter" case to have a bit bling bling.

I do adore this color so much. 💜

I can understand regretting it but not enough to return it. I ordered an 11 Pro in the Midnight Green or whatever it was called but ended up changing it to gold because I could get gold on release day.

this Space Black 14 Pro though, sexy as hell.

I find white boring. And the silver bezels make it look like that cheap chrome painted plastic they apply on toys lmao.
Idk why you're so salty about black tbh, I love it
To each their own, as this is all just aesthetics.
The comical thing about this take is it's only actually the other finishes that are coated with PVD.
Even if they are better protected, once scratched they cannot be repaired--unlike the silver which
scratches can be buffed out with a cape cod cloth.

If you saw a truly white iPhone like on some of the older standard series iPhones, you would see it's less complex than the silver finish.

I looked at a Silver at the Store the other day, yes it's beautiful. I just like the Black better. Like you said, to each their own. :)

I wanted a silver 128gb one, but they only had the 256gb model in stock. So I paid an extra 200 for the colour haha, although I was on the fence because I thought ProRes would be valuable later down the line anyway. I wish they would do a mint one, similar to the iPhone 12 mini. I'd snap one up in a heartbeat.

My perfect iPhone would be one that resembles an iPhone 4. Brushed stainless steel, and maybe the option of a white bezel, yeah here is your unpopular opinion of the day! I love white phones, they just look so clean.

I’m more annoyed that there hasn’t been a BLACK iPhone at all since the 12. So sick of all these different shades of grey rehashed year after year. As a black iPhone 4 user 10 years ago, that was a great looking phone. Getting the 14 pro, I expected it to have a similar look to my old 4, but unlike the silver 14 which looks like a giant white iPhone 4, this just doesn’t look as sleek because it’s grey and not black.

PVD. That’s why I would also like to go for silver, I mean, it will go in a case, but I suspect that even in a case the coating will wear off after a few years simply because of the contact and movements.

A reviewer actually had that happen, exactly as you said on a Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro. Kept it in an Apple Case, and it still scratched after a couple of months. Mind you, some here have warned that the iPhones still need to be taken out of the case to get rid of debris build up.
