It’s the same price as Apple Music here in Canada. Is their catalog better/larger? Better service?
Serious question, why would one chose them?

You can find the differences in features between the various online music services on this Wikipedia page:

In that table the two most important columns are Lossless and # of tracks. You can see that the major players have 70M+ tracks, so that shouldn't necessarily be a decider.

But what is important is that Apple currently only has a lossy audio stream, specifically 256 kbps (not shown in that table). There are rumors that Apple may release a lossless service sometime in the near future.

Deezer can stream lossless CD quality (1411 kbps).

Wow, this works really well. Finally voice activated lossless Audio from the HomePod.
So glad this arrived.

Dumped Tidal for their MQA shenanigans and their poor iOS software and integration. They just didn’t seem interested.

For those that haven’t tried Deezer Hi-Fi I highly recommend giving it a shot.

If you can't find a better name for your company than Deezer, I really have a problem trusting your service

In France Deezer is used by many people...;)
They had a partnership with Orange a couple of years ago that can explain that ( and the fact that was French at the beginning , don't know if it is still the case...)
As a French speaker living in the US, I tried Deezer early on. The geofencing of many tracks/artists made it extremely frustrating to use and I quickly abandoned it. VPNs weren't really a thing back then.
