LOL macdawg you will have to wait a little more
ok im going right now and I'll check all the Mbp's

All the time I've been reading and responding in the forums today, I've had iTunes pouring out a constant stream of crystal-clear, hiss-less, high-quality music from my 30,000+ song library. I even like the fact that I can set the volume at one level when I'm using external speakers (about half volume) and when I unplug the speakers to carry the MBP into another room, the volume automatically jumps to 100%, which is where I set it for using the on-board speakers. Too cool!

I was concerned two years ago when i was thinking of buying a macbook. There were tons of people posting on apples forums about having internet problems. I went ahead and bought my macbook and love it. No internet problems at all. Flawless connections.

People are currently having problems with internet connections on the macbook pros. I don't have a problem. Flawless connection. Alway connected. Very happy that i purchased my macbook pro.

Most people look to the forums when they are having problems and need help. They have better things to do with their time when they aren't having problems.

You have to decide if the time is right to buy now. Apple gives you 14 days in which to return your macbook if you decide you are not happy.

ok i just came back home.

out of 6 macbook pros (4 -15", 2 - 17") four 15" and one 17" had the audio problem.. but, all of the 15" are really hot! the 17" has a better and really bright screen then all the 15" mbp's. also the 17" mbp's have the best speakers, really loud and stronger bass

I've pretty much resolved to wait until the last few days of the Back to School promotion to purchase a 2.5GHz. I can wait...have a MBA and iMac. I am perfectly content with the 2.5GHz but I hope it'll get cheap on Amazon when a new model comes out. The Nehalem/Case Redesign isn't coming til late-2009 anyway.

However, the current MBP, what are the defects. I have read a few, but would like them in simple terms. Something about a defective graphics? What about screens?

In current MBP the majors defects are represented by dark stripes on screen (corresponding to LED not turning on), yellowish displays or displays with uneven illumination. These defects appear to be quite common.

Another problem is represented by lousy graphics drivers.

All of the other imperfections are claimed to be defects because people want PERFECTION for the paid price. But you can live with them quite happily.

For example I have had screen problems (and may be I still have the stripes one), but frankly the various hissing, popping, etc. do not represent a problem for me. Without the screen defects I'd say this machine was perfect.

Some people don't even realize they have a yellowish display or uneven illumination. It depends on what your use is.

Had mine 3 days now.. Only thing i can find and im gonna be taking to the apple store near me to have it looked at is that one of the 2 screen clips that hold the lid down doesn't come down then you close the lid which makes the screen wobble and bash about while closed... Which is annoying..

Had my MBP 2.6 GHz since mid May and I'm very happy with it.

The only Issue / defect I can find is on the keyboard where the "+" and "delete" key meet form a slight peak.

The 23" HD CD is also an added bonus for screen space.
