Since I'm such a p***y I won't be testing these cases out but I did find the Apex Armor to have a little resemblance to the Draco bumpers and they are made here in the US. So far, I'm in love! I've heard they will be updating the logo on it so I suggest waiting until they do that if you're interested. (talking about the Apex Armor)

Yeah same here. I'm giving the Apex Armor a full
Week before publishing a review... I really wonder what the Satin Nickel is like...

 Really? You find a resemblance to the Draco? Great looking bumper but they look nothing like the Draco. I do like their minimalistic approach though.

This is what I have found out

1) As far as I can tell, reception is same with the plastic bumper that I was using. 5 bars at work, 4 bars at home, and no difference in call quality.

2) Design in Japan, but made in Taiwan.

3) To Polzii and Jbromer: No sir, the screw hole isn't stripped. The part of the main frame that covers the screw head had chipped away. The tragedy happened when I tried to scratch off a paint bulge on top of the chipped off area. The aluminum easily crumbled away when I applied force with my finger nail. For something that cost 99 USD, this shouldn't had happened. My theory is that they might had took off too much material from side, which then weakened the structure towards the outer screw head.

4) Today, I took the bumper back to the store hoping to get an exchange. The manager was really nice, he opened up two more Draco IV bumpers for me to inspect... Sadly all of them appears to have the same paint bulge and thin structure... I returned the bumper and got a full refund... Now my baby is shell-less again

I've been looking for this case everywhere. Can you tell me where the store is at?

Agreed with Chris975d, anodize won't chip off. It becomes part of the case itself. Their website says the case is anodized.

Well, I see the case is on Amazon now and they have 14 days return for credit. I think I will just get one and see it myself. Worst case return for credit and waste some money on shipping...

Just ordered an Astro Silver, one because I like the way Raw aluminum looks and two because in the interviews they said the "limited edition" gold/silver ones would be $119. Figured if that is the case I may as well pick one up for the $99 now and save $20.

This will be my first aluminum case so hope it works out well. I did like the look of the E13ctron and Blade but really liked this one when I saw it. Plus having all the buttons and mute switch covered makes it tits in my book.

I got a reply from Draco Design saying the CDMA version "is still being worked on." I have a sinking feeling that's game over there, unfortunately, so I was starting to resign myself to shelling out $150 for the Vapor Pro.

So you both just made my weekend with the Apex Armor. I started a thread about this case weeks ago, but I have been waiting for these to hit production and get a review. I really hope it performs. On their website, you can order without the logo, btw, which is what I figured I would do. And for $80, you could buy both the black and the Satin Nickel for 1 Vapor Pro :D

Besides, anything named after a Transformer has to be good, right?

Well look at what we have here

Any word on signal impact of this case (in actual dB numbers, not "bars")?

I just received mine today and at my house where my signal is typically weak I go from -86 to -100 naked (depending on location to a -95 to -110. Gonna run out to a friends and check it out there. Love the look and feel though. Pics to come
