I've said this multiple times....the battery life on the iphone 5 is pretty bad if you're in a bad signal area and try to actually connect...the phone consntatly searches for a signal and wastes power that way. iLounge had a post about this specific issue. I'm assuming this can be fixed with a software release.

I've found my battery to meet apple's specs when I'm in a good service area or home on wifi with location services on and push email on.

After doing a full restore from scratch, here's my conclusion:
If you are surfing on LTE, battery life is going to stink regardless. If you have connection to wifi, battery should hold up much better.

On LTE without wifi, even on 4 bars battery drains a percentage every 2-3 minutes but on wifi it takes at least twice as long. This is after doing a DFU restore and 2 full battery cycles

And turning off LTE does absolutely nothing. It drains just as fast on HSPA+. And this was tested in Manhattan in a strong signal area.

No app can browse the file system while running on a stock iPhone.
I think they're talking about programs that let you edit the iPhone backups on your computer. After editing, they restore the modified backup. I've never tried it. Hopefully, we won't be waiting too long for a JB.

I really miss SwipeSelection.

What worked for me was to restore from my last back up from iCloud, battery life was not great, but then in settings, re-set all settings and now works like a dream. Much better battery life and way better than 4 or 4S. Only thing is you have to put back in all your passwords, but keeps your texts etc.
