Delayed Verizon ship date

Ordered online at 4:30 CDT without any hangups or delays. Within minutes, I had a confirmation email and a Delivery date of 10/14. I just checked the status online and it now says 10/21. Anyone else see their delivery date pushed back?
 
The exact same thing happened to my order! I just checked and it said 10/21/11. So pissed! This better not be the case.
 
I just checked my order and it still says Oct 14th, but I ordered at 3:01am EST so I suspect that I got one of the first orders in. Perhaps they sold enough in the 2 1/2 hours before you placed your order that it got moved back a week.

I ordered mine a little before 3am! I had to be one of the first batches, this doesn't make any sense to me.

I ordered before 3am since it opened like 10 minutes early and I am showing 10/21
 
I ordered mine at 3:20 EST. Got an email at 5AM that my order was on hold bc they needed more info from me. Called at 9 AM and told my order was on hold but that they had my phone for me, I would just have to call back at 10AM to speak to the credit dept. or something like that. I called at 10AM to verify my credit info and my ship date still says 10/14.
 
I really don't think you guys have anything to worry about if you ordered at 3am, regardless of what the website currently says. I'm sure all the glitches will be worked out.
 
Hmm... if you ordered in the first few minutes, then I wouldn't worry. I'm guessing their system is still processing things, I mean all we can see is that our order is processing and an anticipated ship date. I wouldn't put too much stock in it at this point. I just double checked and mine still does say 10/14, maybe it has to do with the model? I have a 32GB white on order.
 
I wouldn't have thought Verizon would've sold that many I4S. It kind of stinks that if you got your I4 on Feb 2011 (release), you wouldn't be eligble for an upgrade. Its all good though....
 
Where are you seeing this on the check order status page? Mine says ship date 10/14/2011, I am hoping this means arrival. I ordered at 2:55 am.
 
I ordered mine around 1:30PM EDT and mine still says 10/14. I ordered a 64GB white, so it may be based on models. If you go to Verizon Wireless shop page the 16GB black and white now says "ships by 10/20".
 
So for those us who haven't pre-ordered yet, should we expect to have to wait until the 21st?

Edit: Pre-ordering through Verizon that is.

Best Buy is taking in store preorders so you can try there to see if they still have any left

Or you can try your luck on release day at a Verizon or Apple store if you dont mind waiting
 
Why are you guys so surprised? Everyone knows that Apple orders always go first no matter whose site goes up first!

I ordered through Apple for the iPhone 4 launch with Verizon, placed my order within 5 minutes of it going live, and Verizon folks got their phones a day before the people who ordered through Apple.

Today, I ordered within 5 minutes of it going live and did it through Verizon this time, and I too have been bumped to 10/21.

Oh well.

Yes. But their site was a POS last night. Carrier sites were working better.

I pre-ordered my iPhone 4 from Apple and got my iPhone 4 on date of launch.

I pre-ordered my iPhone 4S from Apple and will be getting my iPhone 4S date of launch.
