Delayed Verizon ship date

As previously mentioned, the ship date for 16gb models now says 10/20, so that's probably what they're basing it on. Pretty sure if you ordered before the ship date changed, you'll get it on the 14th. I hope so anyways, as mine says 21st now as well.

Their POS site was down for a while, but the people who ordered from their POS site will be getting the iPhone before you.
Since that is the most highly desired iPhone, I hope you are already camped out in front of the store.
did anyone try calling verizon and asking if this is the case? Also I ordered mine 3 hours ago over the phone and the person said it would arrive by the 14th
Ordered via phone (long story as to why online didn't work in my specific case) about 8:20 AM EDT from VZW. Confirmation email said delivery by 10/14, telesales rep said it would arrive Friday 10/14 or possibly a day early, but order status showed "ship date 10/14" (which I assume is normal since they are geared towards a ship date, not a delivery date usually). Just checked now (7:38 PM EDT) and status still shows 10/14 ship date.
I ordered a 32GB black phone. I am a VZW customer, but with a Mobile Hotspot, not a phone. I am porting an AT&T number to VZW, due to rural coverage problems when we travel. AT&T has been great for me in metro/suburban areas or along interstates, but off the beaten track it blows in the areas we often travel (SW VA, NW GA, N FL, W NC).
I ordered black 32g, probably finished up around 3:15am. Still showing 10/14.
I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon sold more than they thought. General consensus was that everyone got one in February who wanted one, but that didn't account for the many VZW customers who sat it out waiting for the next model. That said, I bet most people who ordered early get it 10/14 or before.

Should be pretty much instant I think. Make sure you're using the pre-order confirmation number not that 4 digit order number.
i ordered a 16gb at like 2 55, it now says 10/21/11, I will raise hell if they pushed my shipment back.
