I recently switched to the iPhone X and I restored my backup from iTunes 12.7. I just noticed I see ringtones on the iPhone but not in iTunes?
I can add tones via iTunes but The ringtones on the phone don't show up in iTunes?

Thanks

Yeah, the new version of iTunes is a mess re: ringtones.

You should be able to go to Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Tones, select all the ringtones, then drag/drop them to your X's page in iTunes.

They are my own tones not purchased, the phone is connected but no tones in iTunes?

Thanks

I have the exact same problem. The custom made ringtones are on my phone but are not showing in iTunes and I cannot delete them from my phone. Any ideas on how to get them off my phone?. I have checked the iTunes media folder and they aren’t showing in there either?.

I tried couple of other software and under ringtones, I see no tones

I was chatting with two  support and at the end they give me a case number so I can call in but I just don’t have a min to call and I also I feel like they will end up telling me to wipe the phone and start fresh

You're correct. I just went thru the entire gamut of files and backups with iMazing 2 and for some crazy reason it does not list ringtones. I thought it did under music or purchased. I keep a backup copy of all my ringtones on my Mac but the ones I do have are on both my phone and the Mac. I have no orphaned ringtones on my phone. I wonder if you can use Airdrop to send the ringtones to your Mac?

I just checked. Airdrop won't work either since I can't find the ringtone files on my phone. I'm going to ask iMazing support about that to see what they say.
[doublepost=1516690375][/doublepost]OK, I found out how from iMazing support. Here's how to do it:

Getting Tones from your device.
If you need to extract a tone from your device you can use iMazing to do so.
  1. In the left navigation panel of iMazing, select your device and click on the "File System" section
  2. In the main window select Media > iTunes_Control > Ringtones. This folder should contain a database file, another folder, and all of your extra ringtones (i.e. non built-in tones) in the form of .m4r files
  3. From here you can simply drag and drop them to your desktop (or wherever else), or select them and use the "Copy to..." tool.

According to HT208075 - Changes in the new iTunes ringtones are no longer managed by iTunes, but must be managed by the user through their phone. Since these are your own tones, you're right in that support would likely tell you to wipe your phone and not restore from that back up because it will just bring back your ringtones.

I found them under the Ringtone folder is it safe to delete whatever inside the folder?
Thanks!!!

I normally use iTunes to load ringtones on my iPhones, however, iMazing 2 can also be used. I like iMazing mostly for backups and digging out stuff that hasn't been synced with iTunes.

The same here because I just tried to drop some tones into imazing Media > iTunes_Control > Ringtones they didn't show up in my X anyways
