iPhone deleting them all

How can i delete all the notifications that stack in my Home screen with one click?
 
There should be an X in a circle in the right hand corner of the top notification. The X changes to CLEAR? when you press it. That is how it works on my iPhone XR running the latest update
 
Tap and hold on the X button, then you get clear all notifications option.
