One thing to keep in mind is initial syncing takes FOREVER.

If you're upgrading from a previous model then 10AM delivery doesn't mean 10AM you get to use it because the sync process is soooo slow (especially if you're doing an iCloud restore or have to redownload 64GB of apps). And if you break a sync restore before its done then it breaks your folder assignments so you need to give some time for sync..

This is my first time ordering anything from apple so had it shipped to my home because normally it is well past 5 before I ever see UPS at home and didn't want to wait around at work for it. Is the thought that if I switch it to my business, there would be a good chance it would delivered during normal business hours?

I will not be updating from a previous model but I'll be syncing from scratch. Probably about 12GB of music and 2GB of photos and videos. Does anyone have any idea about how long this will take from my MBA? Also, if I install the Dropbox app does it store that data locally or just act as a portal to the cloud? (sorry if that's off topic but it is kind of sync related)

OP, usually its not shipped by 1000 AM, the commitment service on those pkgs thru FEDEX are normally by 3:30pm. An option for you is to, once you get your tracking #, and pkg is in transit, call FEDEX and have pkg held for pickup at Fedex location that service your area. I do this alot, and its a simple and easy process.

Fedex is not allowed to release Apple products so no point in signing a note. Either have someone at home or you can pick it up at the local facility. Your delivery time will be determined by how close you live to your local businesses as those are usually given priority!

Wrong. I talked to Apple and they recommended that once we receive the tracking # from FedEx from the store, to fill out the form and place it on our door and they will leave it where specified.

got my shipping notification a little while ago. march 16th via UPS. it is a business address so perhaps that's the difference. i wonder if it'll arrive early like my last iphone. the iphone was a day early and i THINK 3 day's transit. i'm sure this won't show up that quick but maybe mid week? though "world ease" doesn't sound encouraging!

64GB black wifi - listed as personalized on the confirm email due to engraving. maybe they had those to be engraved coming from a different area that got them out quick!?
