I have seen three of those mentioned in the US, that is what i'm waiting on in the UK.
So I had the issue where my Apple Pay card was removed after I preordered my Apple Watch (I have since added it back) and today it said that the payment was missing so I needed to update it. I updated it right away, but I still felt nervous that this may delay me from the April 24 batch of watches.
I called up Apple and they said they see the payment change and it was approved and in the process of me talking to the Apple rep on phone my status changed from Processing to Prepare for Shipment.
So if your charge doesn't go through you will see a red banner above the Order Status telling you to fix your payment. You are given the option to rerun your previous payment option or to enter a new payment method. I decided to manually enter my card info instead of rerunning the previous payment that went missing somehow.
Change it as quickly as possible and like 15 minutes later my status updated to Prepare for shipment.
Sigh. I need a drink.

I've seen the charge go through for one of those and it went briefly to Preparing for Shipment and now it's back at Processing.

I am worried because I payed with Apple Pay but recently had to sign out of iCloud which removed my card. Then I re-activated it. I called Apple to make sure everything was kosher but am nervous because I haven't been charged yet.
YES!! Just looked and it finally changed ... had to have been just recently though because I have been checking all day!!
Yes the issue I mentioned in my previous post was for a Apple Watch 42mm Stainless Steel with Milanese loop. My payment was approved and my order status changed from Processing to Prepare for Shipment.
I believe it would go into "Awaiting Payment" if it tried to charge and failed. I used Apple Pay and my bank declined it as suspicious. I cleared it up with them and called Apple. It charged and went into preparing for shipment.
