Just got off the phone with Apple. They said there was a glitch in their status system that set everyone's order to preparing for shipment. Recheck your orders guys.

Can someone explain how to track by reference? The MacRumors post says to use the phone number, but I've read it can be a mix of order number and phone number.

I'm highly skeptical of that. The rep likely has no idea what they're talking about. Mine still says Preparing for Shipment.

In any case, what probably is happening with orders switching from Preparing back to Processing is the fact Apple has tons of servers. When you have that many servers, it takes awhile to fully propagate the data. So on one refresh you could hit the server that has your latest info, but on another you might be seeing older data. Keep that in mind.

The reps have no clue though, as it has been repeatedly proved over the last couple of weeks...

They claimed that there would be 2 complete bands in the box (4 Parts), but there's actually only 3, for example.

Well for one he said PROBABLY and two he wasn't saying that you're lying. He said that the reps sometimes don't know everything..I mean look at everyone making jokes about drinking whenever someone says a rep said anything haha 😛

Same here! 2 orders for 38 & 42 Silver are preparing for shipment but not the space gray. Bummer!
