Are you asking me or telling me...? I see that when someone has asked or mentioned it you seem kind of bullish about answering.. We are all adults here, so lets compose and respond answers accordingly and not throw out false accusations that everyone is trying to sabotage the document...
Cool. This is the first post i've seen in the US with an update to My UPS. Hoping mine comes soon for the charger.
(I realize the charger is not that "important," for people who are gonna comment about that, but it's still small signs of movement.)
Ok Im as impatient as anyone but doesn't it make sense that this whole shipping process can be very dependent on where you leave in relation to where the watches are shipping from?
For example, I order a lot of things using Amazon Prime. I also live about 2 hours from one of their warehouses. I know that if what I ordered is shipping from that particular warehouse, it can be shipped as late as the evening before my guaranteed delivery date and I will still get on time. On the other hand, if it is coming from across the country, it has to be shipped much earlier.
So, if you live near where the watches are shipping from (assuming they are in this country at this point), you may not get a status change as earlier as someone who lives further away.
Does that make sense?? At least this is my hopeful explanation as to why my order is still processing.
Makes sense. But my friend and coworker ordered three watches and extra bands (him, wife and a family member) and we ordered at the same time. I may have even finished before him. Pretty sure my confirmation e-mail came in at 2:02 or 2:03. He received notices for all three yesterday afternoon and I'm still pending. Oh well, just have to wait it out!
In fact, I just got a notification from Apple saying my charger is shipping! Small steps to a much bigger goal!

i was processed at 2:02ct and i got preparing to ship yesterday.

Livid, yes, but also just venting my hyperbolic energy at the moment ... I'm always Pollyanna in the case of this waiting, within reason, but this is getting to be simply riDIC. This Apple secrecy shiza is cool for only so long ... it should never feel like form of ostracizing faithful people, ever!

I was wondering that as well. No one has gotten a charge yet today, right? I ordered Milanese 38mm SS at 3:02am via Apple Pay, no charge or change.
Didn't seem like a HUGE amount of cards were charged yesterday, in comparison to how many I've seen that have not. I'm hoping today is the big day for charges, preparing to ship, or even shipped. I hope the turnaround is quick for us all!
Also making a wild guess that the watches are indeed in the U.S. (for U.S. orders anyhow) and that they are on the west coast, based on when cards were charged and stopped (around 5pm to around 9pm EST), and nothing as of yet (almost 11am east coast now).
It may be nothing until 4pm or so today just like yesterday. My theory is that the carriers have a shift of workers for 4pm-midnight or so that are dealing with scanning watches and packing the boxes, which generates the charges
I'm thinking they come fedex. Every Apple product that I have ordered directly always comes fedex. Plus I'm hoping it is fedex since they always deliver around 10am.

Don't want to be rude, but my opinion is that where you live has nothing to do with the status change of "processing items" to "preparing for shipment". I think that "preparing..." Means only that you already have one watch reserved for you. Now, the change from "preparing for shipment" to "shipped" is a complete different story, because where you live does affect how early or late the items need to be shipped (as you explain in your comment). This is just my opinion, I may be wrong though.
After that I hope that everybody who stayed up late on 4/10 and are on the 4/24-5/8 date range will receive the watch on the 24 th.

I really hope we start getting tracking numbers soon. There was some weird issue with my address and I got an email asking me to reply with my physical address. It said it was already at the carrier. I talked to Apple and they seemed to say that it will be OK since I caught the email early enough.

An alternate hypothesis:
It has nothing to do with proximity to a distribution center and everything to do with where your watch is being shipped from.
The orders already charged and moved to preparing for shipment are coming from China therefor they need the extra couple days to make it to there homes by Friday.
The orders still processing will ship via air from Louisville and/or Memphis today, tomorrow, and Thursday.
My charging cable now shows shipped. And since yesterday, the charging cables went from processing to preparing for shipment within an hour or so of the watches going to preparing for shipment, I wonder if that means we'll start seeing shipped statuses for watches within the next hour.
Think you're right, well hoping. 3:01 order here, hoping for movement today for my sanity.
Interesting, I was thinking UPS for the exact same reason (all previous preorders have come from there)
have ppl been able to pull up tracking via their phone number in reference tracking? No way I'm sifting through this whole thread...thought there would be another thread about it but didn't see one
