I woke up this morning to find out that Apple tried to charge my card but it was declined. The reason it was declined was because my iPhone was erased and so my token for Apple Pay changed. Apple reassure me this would not be an issue prior to the charges but obviously this wasn't the case, so I called Apple got everything worked out and received a iPhone 6 Plus leather case for free out of this ordeal, and a 15 percent off coupon. Hopefully my  watch will ship today. ###

Been following this thread since the early stages. Was losing all hope as I read about others being charged and eventually getting their watches. Woke up this morning, finally with some good news! To everyone else waiting, stay positive!

Apple Watch 42mm SS Classic Buckle
Confirmation XX:26 4/10
Received EOD 4/23
Charged 4/29 early am
Preparing for Shipmemt
Alabama

Here we go!

The charge showed up as an AmEx notification on my phone at 5:27am EDT. Sometime between 5:27am and 7:30 EDT when I got up, the order status had also changed to "Preparing for Shipment". (I feel like I'm 7 years old again and it's December 24th!)

For the record:
42mm SS BCB
Conf. email: T+00:44:53 (Apr 10, 3:44:53am EDT aka UTC-4)
Ordered via web
Paid via Business AmEx
AppleCare+ on this same order and nothing else.

Just a note. I don't really think I waited 44+ minutes to make this order. I ordered the first two watches as soon as I could get the Apple Store page loaded and could get two watches in the cart and through the checkout process. That order contained a 38mm Milanese (which my wife has on her wrist) and the 42mm Black Leather Loop (still in limbo). I noticed after checkout that the BLL had slipped to 4-6 week delivery. I made the executive decision to order a 42mm Black Classic Buckle, since the delivery window was still 4/24-5/8 and figured that once one of the 42mm watches shipped, I would cancel the other one. So, perhaps my actual order time was quite a bit earlier than 3:44am EDT? I don't know. It was damned early and I was tired.

Either way, the new hotness will soon be here.

Keep the faith folks. I was convinced I would never see any progress on my orders, but it's still quite a few days before May 8th.

I honestly never thought I would get it this week. But here we are. I also think I order well before 3:15 but that's what the email says and at this point I don't care. All I know is that it's on the move.

Got charged 3:AM this morning
Went from processing straight to Preparing for shipment. Preparing for shipment

For those of you in processing hell and those of you about to receive your watches, I thought I would give a little update on my :apple:Watch usage so far, just in case anyone is interested.

I know there are a lot of videos of people torturing the :apple:Watch until it breaks to test its durability, but I thought I would share a little more realistic perspective on usage and wear.

I have a 38mm :apple:Watch Sport with WSB.

I have so far:
Gone to a qualification range for the M4 (that's a rifle) in the sand: no scratching, white band washes fine.
Exercised in the rain. No issues.
Exercised on the beach. Got sand all over it and under the band; again, it rinsed off fine and had no problem.
Heavy yard work involving tearing up the grass, root system and all, in my backyard. In spite of the sweat and sandy soil, the watch was fine after I rinsed it off.

To date, no scratches on the screen or case. It may as well have just come out of the box. The band shows no discoloration or stains from sweat, dirt, sand, carbon (from the weapons cleaning) or anything else to which it's been exposed.

I usually set it to charge while I shower and then read in bed for a bit, then put it on and sleep with it after it's topped off. The haptic feedback is a way better way to wake up than a screaming alarm IMO. I usually get 15% or so battery drain during 7-8 hours of sleep.
I then go to Physical Training and we work out for about 1 -1.5 hrs. Usually I'm down to 80% battery at this point. I set it to charge while I shower and get ready for work and from 0900 to 1800 or so I usually drain the battery down to about 50%.

The day we went to the range I got up at about 0330. The batter was at maybe 89% when I got up. I didn't get back home until about 1830 and the battery still held about 39% charge after a long day involving typical usage. I don't get as many notifications as most, perhaps, but it handled that day very well.

I'm very impressed with it so far. I did a 2 mile run the other day with just my watch without calibrating it by running with my phone on me first and the distance (and therefore pace) was off a bit, but otherwise it's worked perfectly in all other usage.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

My wife actually asked for this one, so I ordered a 42mm to replace this and she's getting it. She won't take it from me now because of how excited I was to get it, but she can't wait until my new :apple:Watch gets here.

my xx:04:50 order of 42mm SS Milanese still uncharged and stuck in processing... (While other people in my local area ordered several minutes after me, for the exact same model, and got charged and updated today)

The good news is, with each passing day, I'm becoming more numb to it all.

Just one more update. My 42 ss bcb is out for delivery and my 42 ss Milanese went to preparing for shipment this morning and will hopefully be here tomorrow

Got charged at 5am CST this morning but the card declined due to possible fraudulent charge. Called my bank at 8am and got it removed. No activity since then. Called and the lady suggested changing from Apple pay to just entering my card so she did that. Waiting for them to recharge me and ship. Starting to get a bit nervous but I know others had the same issue and got theirs next day.

hOw long more we need to wait after "preparing for shipping" ???

Probably until the UPS trucks show up at the Apple DC's to pick up the watches, create shipping labels and schedule shipment. Mine has been "preparing" for at least 9 hours so far.

But at least it's not in processing hell anymore. :):):)

Thanks for the write up. I'm scheduled to get my watch today and look forward to wearing it this weekend for IDPA. Glad to hear it can take some abuse, I was a little concerned about that at first.

Now a bunch of us are in a 'Preparing for Shipment" hell!!:rolleyes:

Never satisfied!
Hell? Not really. Within 12 hours of going PFS your status will go shipped. All of you that went preparing for shipment today will have your watches tomorrow (if apple is doing order night shipments in your country like they are in The USA)

No problem. I've babied mine the first few days and then decided I needed to treat it like a watch and really use it. So far it's proven very durable.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine! :)

Ok maybe trying to climb out of 'preparing hell' status is the right way to say it! :p

I just went to check my status again for the umpteenth time this hour, and got the Oops Not Found page....

well, at least its something different to break up the monotony!
