Just hours after becoming available for purchase, delivery dates for both the new Mac Studio and its accompanying Studio Display have begun to slip well into April.

The higher-end M1 Ultra Mac Studio now lists delivery estimates of April 13 to April 20, and that delivery timing is likely to get pushed back even further as more people place orders.

Interestingly, upgrading to the 64-GPU version of the M1 Ultra drops the shipping estimate down to the end of March, but that is a $1,000 add-on. Other customized versions also change the delivery date slightly.

The M1 Max Mac Studio still delivers between March 23 and March 30, but even that has slipped from the initial March 18 delivery estimate.

As for the Studio Display, the base model with standard glass and standard stand is still delivering by March 23, but delivery estimates for versions with nano-texture glass and the tilt and height-adjustable stand have slipped into mid-April.

For both products, it is no longer possible to get release date delivery, but Apple could have some in-store stock available for people to purchase. The Mac Studio and Studio Display are both set to launch on Friday, March 18.

Just spoke to the shopping specialist, the speakers and mics will work on both displays when connected. this makes me curious if it will also figure out left-right channel arrangement and coordinate mic but really what IF it also can pick up 3D image since it has two Cams with two A13 power..

I was very temped to get the display today but because I still use my two 30" ACDs and enjoy the larger sizes, I will wait a bit longer to see the upcoming XDR price and configuration will be. Hopefully we will get a clue at WWDC.

When will that be? 27” is too small for me as well. I still use my 3x 30” ACDs

Only if you are making good money with one! 10k for a home computer would be insane!
It's called the Studio for a reason, right? And the whole presentation was aimed at creative professionals. Between the laptops, Mac mini, and iMacs, I think the more casual users have plenty of awesome options (I love my M1 Pro 14").

Dang it I am so on the verge of ordering the display... aaaargh

I have a 128GB Ultra with a delivery date of May 4 - May 11. With any luck, that time frame will shorten.
Which SSD?

I was really hoping for upgradeable RAM, but it looks like the Studio has zero internal expandability.
But 128Gb 20C/48G/32N Ultra with 4Tb (my choice) is still less than the cheapest Mac Pro... I've waited this long so waiting for the first tear down videos is no biggie. $5800 is worth it for me if it will get OS updates for 10 years. This is what I really want from Apple Silicon, hopefully Apple will deliver. Despite all its faults, the 2013 MP might make it that far (21 months to go).

Looks like the delivery dates are whacked. Selecting the Max CPU first, then configuring 128Gb 20C/48G/32N ULTRA with 4Tb shows an April 6th - 13th Delivery, Over a month sooner than first selecting Ultra + same options.

Given the performance claims, my guess is the "Mac Pro" line sunsets with Intel (Including Intel itself, who knew?).

Also, with a $2k base price entry point, the Studio might just put Mac desktops in a great position. I may have to expand my Software company, but I'm having too much fun in semi-retirement.
