I knew it, you'll get yours first than mine, :( I'm sure that's because the superdrive, the stuff is comming from two different places they will merge the two and then dispatched to me.

But clearly stuff is moving about and the energy on the forum is looking good, Enjoy 81.

Dip

I ordered a super drive and new Time Machine (12/8th) at the same time, and both of those showed up a couple days after the original order and are sitting on my desk.

Same here, the superdrive shipped and delivered the day after I ordered. It was placed with the same order as the iMac.

Dec 16th order just went to "preparing" :)

and visa auth posted.

Got the email this morning saying my iMac has shipped! I ordered on 12/12. Here is what tracking says so far. Does the "in transit" listing after the shipment release mean its in the air? How do I figure out which plane its on?

I received my new iMac yesterday with 1TB fusion drive (ordered Dec 11). Wow, that drive is fast! Sadly, I've been using the retina display ipad for 30 days now, and it blows away the screen clarity on the imac. I wish it had retina!

And apple also configured my system incorrectly. I ordered and PAID for 16GB of RAM, and yet the system only has 8. A $200 upgrade - that wasn't added!

I am pissed off. Can you imagine? They better do something for me, other than just send out a RAM card and expect me to install it.

Be sure to check your memory, dont just assume it's correct!

If it's not: get a refund, buy the RAM yourself and save a fortune :)

Apple ram prices are criminal!

By the way, I can now only get the first page of data to show on the Google Docs list, so I can't update it.

edit: seems ok now. Just slow.

Ordered 12/11
Preparing 1/7
Shipped 1/8
Arrived 1/9

Can't believe it got here so quick!

Me too!

Preparing 1/5
Shipped 1/8
Just arrived 1/9!!!

I'll update the spread sheet! It's been fun. I think I need a vacation from all of the anxiety...

----------

I knew it didnt come with Retina when I ordered. I'm just saying it is a noticeable difference. Retina blows away the quality of the imac screen.

I don't think the IMac's will ever have a retina screen - imagine what a 27" retina screen would cost? I'm not sure if that's cost efficient...Maybe I'm wrong..

They would cost a fortune now, but maybe down the road in the future they won't be so expensive to produce, you never know with the way technology is today. Just a thought

Haven't gotten home yet to check the label. Apple estimated 1/11 delivery, FedEx estimated 1/10 delivery and it came on 1/9. Don't know how that happens, but I'll take it..

Considering Apple invested like 2Billion dollars in Sharp I think we'll be seeing an Igzo Retina display sooner than you think. BTW, the new Sharp Igzo screens are the most beautiful screens made now. They will be the new benchmark. I thought it was odd that Apple put so much $$$ into a display company that was near going under, but now I see why. Very smart!

To be honest, I'm fine with the 27" the way it is. More res = more money, more resources needed to drive the screen and more heat. I see the advantage on a screen that is held close to your face, but not so much (yet) on the 27" one. I'm sure it would look nice, but at what cost overall.

well it got here...ill send you guys some pics soon, i i know some of you were asking to see my thunderbolt setup, so gimme a few and itll b up for you all

If you don't know about, there is one spreadsheet running to track info, the data is as good as people update their status, with a file where everyone can change things all is expected, people deleting rows and sorting wrongly etc etc, it's been hard to keep it running, while some of us are waiting for our machines we can keep maitaining the Spreadsheet.

The chart covers 250 orders but there are more in there, it's supouse to be only December orders but again all is allowed, even people querying without checking first.:)

Dip

So almost useless data, lol
