My 27" iMac has finally shipped after 28 days of processing. It should arrive January 14th.

I sold my 2010 27" over 2 months ago thinking I'd have a replacement late November. I've been using an old 15" MBP with 4GB RAM. Photoshop and Illustrator have hardly been functional and I can't even use FCP, After Effects, and half the other programs I utilize in my business.

I hope I don't have a difficult time transitioning from 15", 4GB RAM, and a 2.33Ghz dual processor to
27", 32GB RAM, 3TB Fusion Drive, and a Quad Core 3.4Ghz i7 processor ;)

Productivity and morale is about to skyrocket come January 14th!
sounds like you have a good machine coming! I could only afford all stock myself.

Ordered the following on December 19

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

Status: Still processing

I called apple last week because the initial charge to my credit card (along with a $6.00 charge for a subway sandwich) was suspicious enough to cause my card company to immediately (a) issue a new card with a new expiration date and (b) deactivate my existing card.

While on the phone the support rep told me that a number of outstanding orders "might" be shipped by January 15th.

I'm not sure who is testing my patience more, Apple or FedEx. Ordered December 10th. Prepped for shipping January 4th. Shipped January 6th and since it shipped it has only made it to Alaska in four days.

Bonus points to FedEx for still telling me it will be delivered by tomorrow by 4:30pm, though.

OMG hurrrry up!

But don't be too fast and give me a bad screen and/or HDD!!!!

Ordered base 27 just with trackpad...and super driver got super drive a few days later but my order is processing Ordered dec 14 Now I feel just a bit of frustration that orders over a week later are preparing

Well, it looks like (according to the spreadsheet) that Preparing is up to 12/13 today...looks like a couple days per day it moves up. I ordered on 12/23 so I'm thinking it will change to preparing in about 6-7 days, accounting for the weekend. :)

Did your fedex tracking number estimate next day shipping, or it just got there way ahead of schedule?

Sorry for the delayed response. But Apple originally quoted delivery for 1/11/12 with 2-3 day shipping. FedEX quoted delivery on 1/10/12 by 10:30am EST shortly after I got the tracking information. I received it 1/9/12 around 9:30am EST, so only a day ahead of schedule.

Took a total of 31 hours from pickup to being in my hands. I don't think that's typical.

maybe they were feeling generous to me since this is my first order from Apple Online Store

I ordered on the 19th, but decided to change my config so my updated order was placed on the 21st. Configuration:

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

Still Processing. I swear, I'm refreshing this thing every 45 minutes...I had to call Barclaycard and make sure that I'd still get the financing, they said that they know about the delays with the 27" and it'll be fine. So anyone doing financing should take note of that.

Really, REALLY hoping for good news tomorrow or Friday...my birthday's on Wednesday, and it'd be a great present just for it to ship.

that is what i was told

I know, I know Apple sales and support don't know anything but she told me in chat mid January, so fingers are crossed.

how do you change config on a order that is processing
Call them. They can't change the order, though (for whatever ridiculous reason). They cancel the original items and add a new one to the order, which (I assume) pushes you to the back of the queue when you do it.

So I cancelled my imac order today
I went to the apple store and they had the maxed out model in stock!
They got me my trackpad and wired keyboard too, so I added my ram and now setting it up.

One thing I noticed was some flaws in the black bezel around the screen. It's like little dots of clear in the black area left and right of the camera. Anyone else see these yet?

Same issue

I had the same issue went to local apple store and picked up the $1999 model that's all they had. I took it home and a week later noticed a pinhead size bright light coming from bottom left side in the black part of screen. Apple gave me 2 choices get screen replaced or return for refund. I only had the comp for 12 days so I got a refund and placed a order for bto online. I would bring it back for a new one why live with that on a brand new expansive computer.

So can i just wait for them to get them in stock more frequently, then return it? I think this thing has a one year warranty, and this screen flaw would fit in that right?
I wanna use it until I can just go in and get a new one off the shelf.

Apple status moved to preparing for shipment sometime in the last 2 hours. I ordered on 12/29. Stock except for 3.2 processor. Heading over to update spreadsheet now.

Edit: I ordered on 12/19, not 12/29
