yes you can do it but you will have you buy a 6 to 6 pin firewire cable.

so talking about beating a dead horse here, but how can this be negative? i mean seriously? do people just hit negative because they're pessimistic? or do they just not get enough coffee in the morning? Are some people just happier knowing that something isn't completely good?

can i use an ipod for a mac and a pc at the same time? All my mp3s are on my mac, but I'd still like to get a compact firewire drive to take stuff to work and back. 😕

sorry for being off the topic. For the record I'm stoked they're selling at dell again.

if you plan on working in a cross enviroment get this. its called MacDrive 5 and i use it on my pc, it lets you open up anything that is mac, its great. although it doesnt have direct support for using an ipod with it, it will just reconize the ipod as a firewire hard drive, if you want to use your ipod as an ipod on your pc, they also make a piece of software called xplay that they make.
