I tossed the same question around at the end of last year, and I have to agree with everyone who has said get a DELL. That's what I did and I don't regret it one bit.
The biggest winning point for me? Multiple inputs. The utility it gives adds so much value to the screen it's hard to ignore. Right now I've got my Mac Pro (DVI), Xbox 360 (VGA), Wii (Component), and a TV tuner (S-Video) all plugged in to it at the same time, just a button press away from each other, and I still have 1 input free! The picture-in-picture mode is handy with the TV-tuner too.
So yeah, if you're spending money on a large screen, you might as well make sure it's a screen you can get the most out of. The ACD costs a lot more for a lot less...
