So has anyone figured out if it's possible to run either monitor at 2560x1440 HIDPI (up from 1920x1080) on the late 2013 13" rMBP? Last I heard it wasn't really working, but I'm curious if that's changed at all.
I've been using the P2715Q now on my 2013 13" rMBP (Iris 5100) and it can only push a max of 30Hz 1080p (HiDPI), though I've heard some people pushing it to 51Hz at 1080p (HiDPI) with a custom SwitchResX tweak/resolution config.
It's fine for reading, by there's definitely cursor lag on 30Hz, definitely noticeable stepping down from 60Hz displays all your life. Yes, it's an annoying delay, but the 4x as many pixels of a normal 1080p display makes it all worth while, even on 30Hz imo.
I have a mid-2014 15" rMBP (Iris 5200 Pro) from work as well, and that has no issues pushing 60Hz at 1080p (probably the 'just-right' double resolution density, but you sacrifice screen resolution space for it), 1440p (small elements, I prefer 1080p HiDPI, shame really, because I was expecting to use 1440p HiDPI for months!), 1692p (very small elements) or 3160p (way too small) all in gorgeous HiDPI.
More info here between the 2013 and 2014 generations.
http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...ok-pro-retina-display-late-2013-mid-2014.html If you want a
13" rMBP that can push 60Hz at 1080p or 1440p (or higher resolution) in HiDPI, you need the new 2015 models at minimum.
I ordered this P2715Q back on 9th July 2015, and it took like 4 weeks to arrive from Dell. :/ I also ordered two P2415Qs, and they still haven't arrived and it's almost
2 months since I've ordered!

I've also noticed Dell Australia has removed both the P2415Q and P2715Q from their website. I contacted sales support and then said they had P2715Q in stock, but weren't publishing it online, and they said to check back last Friday to see if the P2415Qs would be published back on the site. Seems like there's either a huge shortage of manufacturer parts (under supply) caused by huge demand at affordable prices, OR something is bad with the firmware / a component and it takes time to reveal itself.
Has anyone experienced huge months-long delivery delays ordering from Dell? (Maybe after going private, that was their fall to doom, i.e. Not being able to keep up with demand) I was hoping to compare the P2715Q and P2415Q side-by-side, but at this rate, it looks like I can't even do that.

There have already been some comparisons made in this thread, but it's not the same as face-to-face size and appearance, even though the difference between the two is 8cm less/more diagonal physical screen dimension. lol
I paid like AUD $750 to Dell for the P2715Q, bargin, I managed to shave off like $129 off the RRP for it at the time. Since the AUD has weakened a lot since then, it now costs $899 from Dell, but I've seen prices on Amazon range from AUD $1430 - 1300, for this very same monitor! I'm starting to think Amazon would have delivered WAY quicker though. I honestly don't know why Dell is derping with their delivery speed. I emailed them, and they said it was delivered to a guy I didn't know and then they came back and said it was still with the courier and that it would be here last or this week, but my two P2415Qs still haven't arrived. :/ Looks like they have new 27" 1440p native thin bezel monitors now lol, and the P2715Q is back on the site. (They usually remove them when there's too much demand I think so they can keep up with suppling the orders).

I've only had the Thunderbolt -> mDP connection randomly flicker around twice, but it's rare and I'm not sure if it's just my 13" MacBook Pro crapping out or not. Regardless, this P2715Q and P2415Qs make reading and typing a pleasure to do.
I'm still deciding whether it's best to just go with two P2415Qs instead, over a single P2715Q. There are a lot of times where I wish I had at least two external monitors. (Excluding in-built laptop monitor). I was going to give one to my Dad and one to my Brother, but they don't want it due to not using the computer much (Dad will probably jump on it maybe a couple hours a day, nevertheless, it would be TENFOLD better than the crappy vision-destroying HP 89ppi 1440x900 he has now) or 4k throwing Windows 7 scaling off (Brother using Windows 7).
It's a shame that my work only supports native 1080p externals, and they don't even have HDMI ports! Just VGA and DVI, and a lot of employees are still using VGA at Cisco! Crazy, right!
