Detailed Compare

I can't speak to the Asus, as I've never seen it, but I have a U2520D and it is an excellent display. Colors look great and color consistency is outstanding. Text looks reasonably good (not as crisp as 4K but wayyyy better than 1080p), the hardware/stand/hub is very sturdy, well-designed, and logically laid out. The cables included are excellent quality, and the included USB-C cable supports the 90 watts charging the display is capable of (and it's a good cable that won't fry your Mac). Device charging speeds are also very good. The 25 inch size IMO works really well with native QHD, especially for somewhat shorter viewing distances (if viewing distances are further, 27-32 inch might be a better match.) (You do get crisper text with a 25-inch QHD versus a 27 or 32 QHD display.)

It is worth noting that the hub data speeds are only USB 3.2 gen 1 (the 5 Gbps protocol), even if you use a 10 Gbps USB cable or a 20 or [passive] 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 cable to connect. Additionally, the data transfer speeds with SSDs are acceptable, but they are slower than if you plug directly into a 5 Gbps USB port on a computer.

Of final note, as you likely already know, there is a 27-inch 4K version of this display (U2720Q and U2720QM), which I own as well. Text looks crisper on it, especially small text, but both are really great designs.

Firstly, thank you.
Would you recommend this monitor with Mac mini M1?
The blur problem scares me.

No problem! I do, but I do not get RGB with mine at the moment on the Mini, but rather YPbPr. If you want RGB, as of right now I do not believe it will work between this Dell and the M1 Mini, at least without tinkering with it, which I have not tried. While some others have noted eye fatigue and blurriness in that thread, I've not personally observed this. However, my Mini is more of an exploratory machine for me to get my feet wet with ASi, and probably 95% of my monitor time is with my 16-inch MBP, which does RGB. Dell does have a pretty reasonable return policy, although IIRC there are some cases where a fee can be assessed.

Thanks for answers...

M1 Mini and a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Also have used it with a 2015 15-inch that has since been retired. It is worth noting that some have reported blurriness issues with M1s and some externals, although I have not personally noticed blurry text with my setup.

I read the rtings review here.
I think I'll buy Asus.

Note: Due to numerous complaints of compatibility issues and Dell's unwillingness to offer support to those affected, all Dell monitors have been removed from our list of recommendations for the time being and until the situation is resolved. At this time, we don't test for compatibility; if you run into any issues using a monitor when connected to a Mac Mini, please let us know in the discussions.

Makes sense. With the number of people reporting issues, it definitely seems like a bit of a risk to some extent.

You dodged a bullet! I received my Dell U2520D today and had blurry text issues, I'll be returning it ASAP.

I hooked the U2520D to my 2015 MBP trough HDMI and yes, text looks blurry, BUT I have to admit that using retina for the past 5 years is not helping. I also have a 5K iMac and it's night and day ...

I bought a displayport > mini displayport cable to replace the HDMI, but I´am not holding my breath on this...
