I want it to last as long as possible..so I like to take care of my things...
This voids his Applecare, doesn't it?
If it does, then if you bought the extended Applecare, you should return it and get your money back for something you can't even use.
You're kidding? A small dent would void my WHOLE applecare??? Please tell me your wrong??
As I said in my post:Really? I'm sure I've read posts about people having troubles with their mac, bringing it to a genius desk, and having them look it over with a fine-toothed comb for any physical damage. If there is any, then they'll say that the damage could've been the reason for the mac's problem. Can anyone confirm what Apple's official policy is to do with physical damage?
However, that doesn't mean your entire AppleCare plan is voided. It only means they won't cover repairs that they determine could be the result of damage.No, a dent doesn't void AppleCare, but they won't pay to repair it.
If you have an issue that they determine was caused by the damage, they won't cover that, either.
b. Limitations
The Plan does not cover:
...
(ii) Damage to the Covered Equipment caused by accident, abuse, neglect, misuse (including faulty installation, repair, or maintenance by anyone other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider), unauthorized modification, extreme environment (including extreme temperature or humidity), extreme physical or electrical stress or interference, fluctuation or surges of electrical power, lightning, static electricity, fire, acts of God or other external causes;
...
(viii) Cosmetic damage to the Covered Equipment including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports, that does not otherwise affect its functionality or materially impair your use;
...
how'd you get the dent in the first place? sorry if you already said it somewhere in the thread, i didn't see it. i'm just like you... i treat my macbook like as if its my own real baby.
picture or it didnt happen
no, in all seriousness, I'm sorry. unfortunately, some sort of cosmetic defect was bound to occur eventually... just happened sooner in your case (lame pun intended)
In regards to that stuff about Applecare, here is a thread that I was referring to:
Dropped Macbook
I'm just saying... they might void it.
(No snide remarks now. It's a legit concern and I'm trying to help.)
