^^^ You do realise there is a reason humans sweat (and have underarm and groin hair for that matter)

yes I do but some people sweat too much,
and when your palms are so sweaty that latex gloves slip off and nobody wants to shake you hand , i think thay botox helps alot.

The armpits - some people are excessive sweaters. as in no amount of anti-perspirant will stop the waterfall that drenches the shirts.

i have noticed it is quite easy to tell which of my female colleagues have shaved armpits - they dont have such a strong B.O.

I really hate when people cover up smelly armpits with deoderant. Was your armpits, dry them, then put on anti perspirant and you will smell good.

yes I bolded dry them because many people forget to. and just create the perfect moint environment for bacteria to grow and create stinky smell.
same with feet.

I don't get body odor unless I'm sweating like a pig, and then only in my right armpit for some reason.

So usually I don't have to wear deodorant.

You could try a spray, unless it irritates your skin. You could wear cologne to mask the scent and smell even better than normal. Like suggested before, wearing a proper undershirt (white t-shirt, not tank top) is a good idea too. Then you can go to town with your anti-perspirant.

Also, if you're up for it, think about shaving your armpits. A lot of men are doing it these days. I'm thinking about it myself. Or at least trim. No one should think that armpit hair is attractive. It reduces odor and it's nice for the ladies (and yourself too). It'll probably itch a bit for the first week or so but after that it's gravy. Moisturize after shaving.

I'm a normal guy, but I do get a bit of "build up" on my undershirts over time, usually I toss them out and buy new, but after reading this thread does anyone know how to remove or wash out this built up mess from white cotton t-shirts? Seems like you could.

Wish I could call my mom about this ..... no she's not dead, just doesn't have an answer.

LOL -- I was just thinking the same thing today. There's got to be SOMETHING that can dissolve that gunk.:eek:

If I'm not mistaken Vinegar takes out the buildup on shirts. (Never tried it though).

I burn through my white t-shirts like crazy. I'm lucky to make them last 6 months before purchasing new ones.

I will never shave my pits, its bad enough that I have to shave my face every few days.

I have just started using Degree, they have a new non gunk deal that works fairly well.:)

Definitely shave your armpits guys, that really cuts down on odor.

My white shirts get stains on them but I have to wear them a lot before that happens and by time it gets to that point I just buy a new shirt that's crisp and white looking again. Otherwise I never really have a problem (use Arrid XXDry) that I have noticed.

Don't blame the deodorant--the problem is your Pits!
Might be. Nothing I've tried works for me either. Luckily I don't really stink even if I sweat, so long as I shower. Which I do. I like the gels better than the sticks because they don't gunk up as much, and roll-ons do in a pinch, but no spray for me. Just don't like them. Arrid and Mitchem are good, Arm & Hammer works pretty well too. I like the smell of some Gillette and Old Spice too, but some are a little too strong and don't do much in the way of sweat prevention. But it's going to be hot, and I'm going to sweat. Especially if I'm hauling around servers in the hot sun, up and down stairs. Sometimes, for some reason, I sweat even if it's cold. I don't know why. Just happens. Sometimes I'm just dry as a bone. Weird.

Lots of Resolve and Spray & Wash help with the stains, but nothing really gets them out.

Ooh, dynamicv-- that site (okay well, the products) look v v interesting.
Argh. Stupid £ <--> USD, though. Phoey.

Which one do you use? :p

When I'm going out I use the crystal. I'm quite blessed in that my pits don't tend to smell for some reason (and that's not just me saying it, others agree), although I do sweat quite a bit. It probably means bacteria find me too nasty to breed on or something

I used Tom's of Maine deodorant and haven't had a problem. It's a clear stick type. So no chalk residue and doesn't seem to take as long as the clear gel types do.

I never really had much of a problem with the gel types when I used those, just make sure you give it time to dry before putting on your shirt.

Seriously. Use Tom's.

Plus, their Mango toothpaste is incredible.

I don't shave my pit hair because I naturally don't have a lot of it. I prefer simple grooming of body hair over shaving. If you shave everything you look goofy as a full grown man in my opinion.

Anyhow I agree with wearing white t-shirts under my shirts. Actually it keeps you cool and it absorbs sweat. A lady I teach with at the school sells Avon products on the side and they really have some good mens products. I use their roll-on deodorants without any staining problems and they have some really good scents.

I personally think it's preferable to trim underarm hair with a buzzer instead of shaving it with a razor. I've heard that if you shave with a razor your skin can absorb the nasty bad things in the anti--perspirants. I trim every once in a while with a body groom. http://www.shaveeverywhere.com

woah stay away form tht. eaarlier this year some guy on here used that and had gotten a huge ingrown hair and had to have surgery and have it drained.

Haha. I never knew they had deodorant. My neighbor is some big salesman for them. I believe he mainly focuses on the toothpaste though. The other day he was at my house having a big conversation with my parents about the toothpaste industry.

This person I work with has the WORST smelling deodorant ever. I didn't notice it as much today but last week he/she's deodorant was so strong I had to go home and take a shower. It was sooo nasty smelling it all day.

Anyways, Deodorant is such a nasty sounding word.

I just wear white t-shirts under all my shirts... the outer shirts never have issues and white t-shirts last a good 2 years easy.

I do the same. From reading the posts here, it seems like very few do this.

I should point out that I don't give up on the white shirt until it's dead. Nobody will ever see it. I have some that I've had almost 10 years.

Wash yourself and your clothes regularly. ;)

I don't see the reason for using a deodorant. You might as well carry a can of air freshener with you.

I've been using Degree soft solid anti-perspirant for years and haven't had any problem with stains. The invisible stuff is there to make people feel desirable but it doesn't last long enough to bother using it.

I used Mitchum (Sports scent). But since I started using Drysol, my life literally changed.

I used to sweat a LOT, but now I don't sweat at all. I really recommend Drysol to people who sweat no matter what anitperspirants they use.
