The font is very very thin - hardly visible in non-retina displays of iPad2, mini, etc. I am doubtful if this would appear in iOS7. But idea of 2 different color tones for white/black appears decent and may provide seamless UI-Hardware look. Waiting for WWDC. :fingers-crossed:

Changing the default wallpaper would do wonders. I don't understand what Apple is thinking this ripple.

Really digging the idea of customizing the UI more so depending on the device color. Makes a lot of sense and Jony Ive was saying something along these lines in an interview a long time ago. That he wants to create a sense of design for the product that spans the physical and UI realms.

Is this a mock up based on an early beta? Because the Game Center icon looks different than what we saw in that blurry screen shot.

But let the hating begin on someone's photoshop mockup. :D

This is just horrible. If it did turn out to look like this, and I have every confidence that it won't, I'd have to consider alternatives - it's that bad

That is ugly as sin. Anyone who says they like that is a confirmed Apple fanboi or shareholder lying to the public.

Gradients

The icons are much more likely to look like this...

Unless they do something completely different.

If at all it turns out to look like this, I will hold off upgrading.. and would surely consider alternatives

None of this looks good or real, should have used a better looking concept for the news article.

This is just ugly.

Apple would never allow this to be iOS 7.

I was thinking about vector icons and fonts and thought that this could be new feature of iOS...

Re-sizable icons (similar to text in the current iteration) could be one of the killer features of iOS7.

Wonder if they will update the font with 3gs phones and lower... i'm sure that would look horrid on a non-retina screen

I think 9to5 should have left well alone. Shocking attempt at a mock up. lol

I agree! This looks like FLAT crap.

Anyway this anticipation is building and people are really going crazy.
Just think how much is Apple managing this brain control... they were always good at this...

Let's wait and see. I still have faith they will make something different and good.

We shouldn't pay too much attention to that mock up. It was clearly put together by someone who had their eyes firmly shut at the time. ;)

The snippet about the changing UI according to ambient light is much more interesting. Not long to wait until we find out.

(Oh and off topic, can I be the first one in this thread to add something about Apple announcing details of the new Mac Pro today even if it won't launch until the Autumn? I'll get my coat... :D)

That's pretty awful...

I'm assuming if its something like that it will be much more tasteful. The real benefit of a flatter iOS GUI will hopefully be an even speedier experience. With the lack of gloss to render and a simpler palette I hope accessing and moving around will be even quicker - that's what the main aim should really be, at the end of the day when you get better at moving around iOS you want it to go faster.

I really hope something like this benefits iPhone 4 users as that phone has become so horribly slow with iOS 6. I'm lucky enough to be on iPhone 5 now but I really held out for a while before I changed and my iPhone 4 was dragging it's heels so much on iOS 6.
