As much as I am hoping for Mac Pro revisions in two weeks, I think he is most likely referring to the iMac line.

He may be referring to the iMac in part, or may not, but he was almost certain foreshadowing Leopard's support for the OctoCore and beyond. That Mac Pro should be just awesome once its power is truly unleashed. Tiger sadly keeps it caged at the moment.

Unless there is an announcement for an SDK for iPod, then iPod would be way off-message for WWDC - this is a developer's conference, not a consumer products conference.
What about last year's update of the iPod to 5.5G?

A headless Mac? We've had one for a few years now actually. It's called the Mac mini. Maybe you missed the memo... :p ;)

I don't think there is really a need for a headless mac between the specs of the 24" iMac and the Mac Pro...one could buy a Quad G5 if they don't need Intel only things...

The Mac mini? Please, it has no power. Its a joke.

I'd like something with more power than the 24 inch iMac...but I don't want the iMac.

And I certainly don't need the raw power of the Mac Pro. Honestly, if they put out a tower with the iMac components in it, I'd be happy.

Once Santa Rosa comes out, with the improved integrated graphics, the Mini or its replacement will be pretty close to the iMac.

I never said it wasn't underpowered - you said you wanted a headless Mac - the Mac mini is a headless Mac. You asked when the last time was that Apple had a headless Mac in its line-up - I once again referred to the Mac mini. If that's not what you meant then you should have been more clear in your initial post. ;)

I too am hoping for the next headless Mac to be premiered at WWDC.

Here's my official prediction: They'll strike the Mini, strike the quad-core Mac Pros, and introduce a new headless Mac.

There really is a large market being ignored in between the iMac and the Mac Pro. A fully loaded iMac sans built-in monitor is really all I need. A quad-core could not justify its price in my day-to-day work, but I'll be damned if I'm giving up my dual-monitor (matching models) for an iMac. God help me, I'd rather be on an equivalently-spec'd PC.

Alas, I'm sure it's just wishful thinking.

Any reason you think July over June or even August?
I dunno... it makes sense that 10.5 will have blu-ray support for FCS2 and the new Premiere shipping July 1st. So WWDC might happen...

Also, the price bumps that are being reported for quadcores cpus coming in July.... we'll see.
