Ordered a Desmay. It's a shame they ship from ****ing Hong Kong, but oh well I guess I'll get it in a couple of weeks.

Always been a Feather fan. Ordered the Desmay to try it out. Before it arrived, I dropped my new 4S on the asphalt. It hit the top left corner towards the front edge. The Feather took the hit and the 4S was unscathed. After receiving the Desmay, I just couldn't use it. The same drop would have caught glass. I want slim, but the Desmay offers too little protection.

BTW, I never dropped my iPhone 4. Was horrified as my 4S headed for the pavement.

I have/had both cases. They are vastly different but both are great. The slight is really just a thicker more durable skin in a way, without the possibility of bubbles or peeling. It's very thin. You can't go wrong with either, but it's hard I compare the two.

I edited this post because the Desmay Slight I mentioned having, has been sold to a member here.

I hope this isnt against the rules, but I have a black "transparent" Desmay Slight that I no longer need. Ive literally had it on once for 30 seconds. I went with a bestskinsever protective back before the case got here, and the case obviously doesnt fit. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

If this isnt allowed, I apologize, and will delete the post.

Is there a thread somewhere here where members can sell, trade or purchase? I know a lot of other sites do have this option. I'm not saying that this is allowed or not cause I don't know. It would be great to offer up some of these purchased and unwanted cases at a reduced price.

This is so surprising - I had finally decided that the Slight was the case I was going to purchase (after much extensive research lol) and then someone said that the product shown on their page is not the case one receives. Wow. Thank you for pointing out the larger cutout. So back to the beginning of my search for a minimalist case...

anyone know how these compare to the powersupport air jacket?

i hate my clear/black air jacket because it scratches very easily and also has a lot of fingerprint smudging. also the back crystal has bubbles due to the tight fit.

i'm looking to return my air jacket and replace it with a similarly thin case, but i'm very confused by all of the differing opinions...

any help would be appreciated. looking for minimal bulk but with a little bit of shock proof if i drop it the phone wont crack.

where did you see that?

I just ordered the clear. I wish it were more clear, but I am ok with the way it looks on the white, and I really want something super thin and streamline. And because I am impatient I paid extra (a lot extra) for express shipping, so we'll see how long it takes.

I think it is in reference to the shot from Desmay's website:

and the gap around the mute button on the actual product.

I'm less critical of the gap now that I've had the case for a few days. It really feels tight and makes the phone feel smaller than any other case that I've used.

ah I see..but isn't the larger gap the reason it actually fits the 4S which a lot of us have?

I don't see why anyone would buy the Desmay - it looks like it wouldn't protect against anything if you drop it. Especially since it ends at the antena and doesn't even come flush with the front glas (much less protect anything). That way it'd be caseless - much probly protect more than the desmay since you won't be scratching your phone from the dirt rubbing up inside the case.

If you're looking to protect the back when you set it on a table, a simple screen protector or leather / aluminum back decal or back replacement would be better.

I'd go for the incipio.

Just received and put my Slight on. It's definitely the absolute thinnest a case can possibly be. Very sturdy though, and seems to be made of durable material. Kind of a PITA to put on and take off, but it absolutely feels like using the phone without anything on it.

The cutouts definitely let it be used on all iPhone 4's and 4S. Nothing gets in the way of the camera/flash. Definitely the case to go with if you want scratch protection in a unique little shell.

The feel of the case is similar to a slightly rougher feeling trackpad on an aluminum MacBook. Tiny bit less slippery, but not dramatically.

The fit is spot on. I especially like how it's contoured around where the rear glass meets the stainless antenna band. I can see this being a tough case to manufacture.

Definitely recommended for those who want minimal, extremely minimal, bulk and no more drop protection than naked but plenty of rear/side scratch protection. I got the black, which is like a very dark translucent smoke. On a black iPhone it looks pretty sharp.

:edit: I though I might mention this fun fact. This case is so thin you can almost fit the phone inside an Incipio Feather with it on.

I have a SGP Neo Hybrid and I wonder if an my iPhone with the Desmay case could fit in it. Would be useful when Im snowboarding with my phone in my pockets, because from what I heard, its very hard to remove the case.

I honestly wouldn't doubt that it could. It's that thin. To put it into perspective....

Look at the iPhone from the front. The amount of stainless steel that you can see on either side of the screen from the antenna is about how thick it is, give or take.

Yes, exactly. Everything just looks so perfect in that picture -- until I started reading this forum- so thanks for all the info posters. It is more the principle right now for me- but I am still thinking about it.

how long does it take to get the desmay shipped (Standard shipping) to the USA?

I am currently using the power support air jacket on my 4s and I love the case but I'm looking to give the desmay a try. With the way the air jacket is cut at the bottom the 4s fits in my xm skydock without removing the case. Does anyone know if the phone will fit in a dock with the desmay slight on it? I think it will with as thin as it is but before I waste the money figured Id ask.

Here's my white iPhone 4S with the Feather in Translucent Mercury

I love the look and feel of the Feather. The case fits snugly and feels solid in hand. I also love the included screen protectors. You can't even tell they're on.
