What is the good of talking about issues with the Nexus One on the iPhone forums?

We've even had complaints about the amount of Android/BlackBerry/Palm posts in the iPhone forum posted in the feedback forum: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/915303/

Now we want MORE off topic posts in the iPhone forums?

EDIT:

It's sad that some people have jumped ship based on all of this media hype. Who even holds their phone like that while talking?? I've tried and it's uncomfortable, unnatural, and kind of silly to hold a phone like that while talking. Let's be real here guys.

Uncomfortable? Unnatural? Kind of silly? The way Steve holds it? You sure?

How the hell is this off topic? People have absolutely lambasted the iPhone for having antenna issues. But when it happens to another phone, somehow that gets swept under the table.

dude - not everyone has giant a_ss banana hands like yourself. Whether I am texting or talking, the damn antenna issue is affecting both voice and data.

Just because the glove fits you don't mean it fits everyone and apple is in no position to dictate how the hell I choose to hold my phone. Steve's EGO is getting so big, he's making bill gates look like a saint.

It's impossible to cup the bottom of your phone and text at the same time. If you can prove me wrong, I will move to Antarctica, hunt for seals and listen to "Never Gonna Give You Up" for the rest of my life. This is a serious challenge.

I've also listened to several iPhone users who have complained loudly about the problem then admit that they haven't actually dropped a call yet. They're just echoing what they're hearing.

I totally second that. I never hold the phone in death grip whilst talking - and if surfing - learning to hold in right hand always 5 bars. Great. Problem solved.:)

I also can easily replicate the signal drop issue while TRYING to do it. If I am simply making a call I have not had the issue. I assume with any product if you look for its faults you will find them.

I see many people post comments like oh I returned mine because it had a spec of dust...Do I not care enough to notice? I had to bring my iMac in for service and the genius said oh we can fix that issue with the screen too...I said ah what, okay fix it...I never noticed the issue, perhaps I didnt look hard enough...

Maybe because we are iPhone owners, not Android owners, and it's a ****ing Mac forum? So just because the Nexus One has similar issues, that makes it ok? Great argument.

Read the threads of complaints from nexus owners I posted. The Nexus having 3G issues is OLD NEWS. This is current news.

Lets do this then. What would you like to discuss with me (a Nexus One owner) about the 3G issues? I'm up for a chat.

what's with your 100% stance on this issue being a non-issue for others???

I use my iPhone with my left hand cupping the lower left corner. I don't even need to have much of the left side antennas covered to see my signal drop and in my case, the data connection slowed/disconnect.

I use my left thumb and right thumb to text like how you see in all the iPhone feature videos on apple's site.

You can move to antartica if you choose but for sure you won't get a signal there. And even if you did, you'd still have this antenna issue/problem.

Show me the Class Action Lawsuit.

Really? Because explain to me the android VS iPhone bash threads? People touting that the EVO4G and other HTC phones.

Seems to me when it's a benefit for you guys to bash the iPhone it's fine but if someone uses issues with those phone to show a logical parallel then that becomes an issue eh?

Show me the Class Action Lawsuit.

There has been none. Possibly due to the fact that the majority of Nexus One's with issues were on T-Mobile and the low sales didn't help the lack of the class action lawsuit.

I do have a little bit of reading on the N1's 3G reception issues for you if you like.

Remember - The Nexus One was such a low seller that it does not represent the majority of Android handsets sold.

Anything else?

Yea, and I guess lawyers aren't allowed to use cases like Roe vs Wade at abortion hearings either.

Plenty of people have complained about those JediZenMaster.

It is the opinion of some (myself included) that they should be separated from the iPhone forums. The Evo4G thread quickly turned into a trumpet blowing flamefest. :(

Yea, and I guess lawyers aren't allowed to use cases like Roe vs Wade at abortion hearings either.

why are you comparing this issue to abortion issues?

jeez, it's so simple:

iPhones = best selling, most popular, most envied device on the planet
android devices = not that popular, not envied by anyone, hard to use for most mainstream users, and tmobile/verizon customers in the USA.

Even if the android device can play bluray movies on its screen, I still wouldn't give a sh_it about it and never would I buy it.

Even if apple's iPhone 4 can't be fixed, I still would not buy an android device to replace/substitute it.

And come on, it's a freakin' phone. I was going to go naked without a cover on the phone but in reality, I'd still put one on. Steve jobs' have gotten all of you by the balls. You know you are not going to jump ship.

So you still got yours?

Cup with the right hand. Am sure you will manage it in the end. That's what we people do - we learn. I suggest you learn too.

Or alternatively there are a wide range of other phones.

PS Antartica would be too cold...touch screens are not that good with gloves on.

Actually, I have been working on holding it with my right. Honestly, I already gave up when I bought my case for the phone. I gave up on fighting this battle. Ain't' no way I'm switching to another HTC/hemorroid device. And with the case on, I'm enjoying every bit of this great phone.

I can tell you why. Too often, Apple puts "form" ahead on the priority list over "function."

Apple Pawn: "You know, Mr. Jobs, this new antenna design may cause signal issues..."

Steve: "Yeah, but it looks so pretty... Go with it anyway."

Ok, dude. That's just ridiculous. They clearly did it for function. If it was form they would have just slapped a useless piece of metal around the end.

Ok, "dude," looks like I was right:

"Apple engineers were apparently aware of the risks associated with the external antenna design but "Mr. Jobs liked the design so much that Apple went ahead with its development".

I hit the nail right on the head. Apple often puts "form" ahead of "function".

I held an iPhone4 for the first time last week, and I felt like I was holding a delicate work of art rather than a cell phone. If I owned one, I'd consistently be worried I'd break it.
