Notifications are really weak in Apple. I hopethis encourages them to make more options (like giving an option to have a persistent alarm).
If you use notification by notification, you will do very well with the simple and clear options. It doesn't always have to be colorful and dazzling and persistent noisy like in a whorehouse.

Flappy Birds was 7 years ago?

I don’t believe this...

Holy crap, it really was that long ago. If you’d asked me to guess, I would have said it was 3 or 4 years ago.
I think this largely depends on how old you were when the game first came out. I was still in high school at the time, and thus my perception of how much time’s gone by is much slower/longer. It feels like an eternity ago.

Which is odd, because I still have an iPad with the original game on it. What’s even weirder is that I downloaded it in summer of 2014, after the game had supposedly been removed.

I'd love for you to elaborate on this. Not making the connections between alarm configuration and notifications.

As for a game in a notification, wow, that's nuts!

With a tiny, slowly fading-in X to close it

Ugh! Drives me nuts how far ad makers go to "hide" how to dismiss an ad. And lately they've been opening up the App Store sheet on top of the ads just to extend viewing time and increase forced interaction. I wish Apple could enforce some standardization around this.

I was referring to the Big Sur notifications being oddly difficult to close, but that too.

I still maintain that Flappy Bird got shut down because Nintendo threatened to sue the life out of the developer and not because of any moral quandary he faced.
Why did Nintendo threaten him? Because of the pipes?
Honestly, Nintendo is an ass company.

You know, it would take less then FIVE SECONDS to confirm that "the game created by PlayCanvas creator Will Eastcott" was in fact authored by Dong Nguyen.

The error should be correct in the article. Giving credit to a copycat for the original author's work is really terrible.
