I LOVE this series. I barely got into it through Netflix so I'm only up to Season 3 :( I have to wait for 4 to come out for me to catch up.

Season four is available on iTunes in HD and SD right now. The Blu-Ray version will be out in the middle of August. Additionally, you can watch season four on Showtime On Demand. Lots of choices ;). I hope you didn't already hear what happens at the end of season four. If not, don't read anything Dexter-related until you've finished season four.

I've seen season four, season one, and I'm halfway through season two and loving every minute of the show. I'll save season three for next year so I have some Dexter episodes I haven't seen to watch during the spring/summer.

First bit of Comic-Con news:

Dexter: Early Cuts, which is an animated web series created in part by the show's cast and producers, will return in October. This year, we'll see Dexter after Harry's death and in college.

Check back later for a trailer of the new Dexter: Early Cuts chapters, and the first trailer of season five. Does anybody know if there's somebody doing a live video feed of the two Dexter panels today, or does Comic-Con prohibit that?

Here is the trailer for the web series described above:

The season five trailer as well as an additional 30 second promo should be up very soon according to Showtime. The Dexter panel where both were shown at Comic-Con to an audience of thousands is over, so it shouldn't be long from now. From the little I've read, this will be a crazy season. I'm waiting to see the panel, which Showtime should add to the Dexter podcast tomorrow, and the trailer before reading about what was revealed today.

Here's a low quality, incomplete version of the amazing trailer shown at Comic-Con that was just uploaded!

"It was me." Woah. Can't wait for a much higher quality, complete version. Showtime said it would be available after the panel on their Facebook page, but so far it isn't.

To hold you over until better version of the trailer comes out, here are a bunch of stills from the season premiere that raise a lot of questions:

Better quality, complete version (though you'll need to watch the other video to see Deb's reaction as the guy in this has to hide his iPhone 4 during that) of the Dexter season five trailer:

In 720p, and judging by this person's other YouTube videos, it was shot using an iPhone 4 so there's two reasons for you to get excited to watch this ;).

By the way, Dexter is leading in the "MacRumors TV Show Recommendation" thread, where are all of the MR Dexter fans?

I figure I should add the link to the season five trailer since Showtime finally added it to their site:

http://www.sho.com/site/video/brightcove/series/title.do?bcpid=14033850001

Audio is finally completely audible and the picture is clear. Additionally, Showtime has an emotional "It's Already Over" promo up with scenes from the beginning of the first episode set to music. Trinity said "It's already over" when he killed his bathtub victims. Hopefully this starts the discussion again, as the general consensus around here seems to be that Dexter is the best show on TV to MR members, as indicated by the "TV Show Recommendations" thread and some of the staff admitting they're big fans.

We'll get more footage here if fans can collect enough "kills" (points) in time:

This is a very subtle marketing campaign for fans of Dexter from Showtime. Showtime is really putting together great marketing for this season. At the end of Dexter Game On through the iPhone scvngr map hundreds of people in San Diego were led into a room with a FBI agent where a fictional murder had taken place by the "Infinity Killer."

Check out these fictional sites (not for the faint of heart, I mean it):

Registering for the second (Showtime-managed) site will give you weekly videos about the sleep program. Assumedly, all of these will be Dexter's victims this season so this is great immersion. You can follow a lot of extra info on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Wow, this is really cool. Showtime hired a group of people to manage emails and phone numbers and play along. You can also communicate with whoever "F8" is through different Twitter names. This is a very intricately put-together game. I've never seen anything like it. Disturbing though if you don't want to play along with a fake serial killer persona, but otherwise fun.
