Dictation makes participating in forums awesome on the new iPad

Overall the dictation on the iPad seems to be 100% faster than on the iPhone 4S. I don't know why.

It is using the same server so it for makes no sense.

Maybe it's faster because it's not trying to figure out what you're asking it? ie. finding the answer to your question. If it's just voice dictation it seems like it should be quick. I haven't tried my dictation feature yet so I don't know how fast it is.
 
You know that's a good point I hadn't thought of that at all I'm trying this out..

We're in the same boat. It doesn't like my South African accent either. What I say, and what appears on th screen, bears no resemblance at all. Eg, I wiil read what I just typed and you will see the result:

"he doesn't like my father taking you got what I sad and what appears on the screen is not everything just resemblance *******."


Omg! I swear that last word, "a...."it interpreted the words "at all.":eek:

Try getting it to recognise "courgette". I got...

1) Couchette
2) Rumour shirt
3) Cool shirt
4) Commercial jet

Before switching to "zucchini" which it recognised first time. ;)
 
I'm really liking the new dictation feature. This is so much better than typing. Does anyone else find that it takes a long post dictation? Is it normal for the dictation to not post until you hit the microphone again?
 
Dictation mode really should type as you speak. It seems strange that it doesn't do that because then you can't check your work as you go along.
 
never had dictation issues on the iPhone but it's glad to see that the iPad has great dictation software

What I do is I tap anywhere on the screen to make it go away. This post once again brought to you by dictation.

Trying this post again if I talk slower and hopefully pronounce my words better it will come out.

Seeing as the first line came out so good I thought I'd say this last bit as a note to myself that I should talk slower and pronounce my words better I sound a bit like a robot but it does save my fingers hitting the screen so fast.
 
Doesn't work so well with my Northern English accent...

My wife tried to say "Doesn't work well with my Turkish accent" -

Doesn't work well with magnificent
