I think the iPad 2 is smokin. I was excited for it to come out because iPad 1 prices dropped. I just ordered a 64gb iPad1 wifi refurb and Apple gave me free overnight shipping.

While I love the iPad 2, couldn't resist the great pricing on refurbs. I feel like a kid at Christmas.:D

Yup bought my wife a 32gb refurb for $429. iPad2 64gb for me on the 11th. Can't beat the price drop on the iPad 1.

With iOS devices, apps that come out don't always work on the old devices. apple also limits some features on the old devices so no. I wouldn't go with an old model, that and the fact I already had one.

This is the one thing about Apple that is ****** me off. I like to use my iPhone 3G at work, I work in a rough environment and like to keep my iPhone 4 safe. I just wish Apple would still supply updates that keep it working at it's optimal performance instead of slowing it down with new updates. Now I'm worried the same thing is going to happen with my iPad. I just today updated to 4.2 so I can use the DirecTV app and now i'm worried it too will become a slow mess.
NOT COOL!!

Eh I was definitely contemplating getting a refurb iPad 1 after the iPad 2 launch. I was really hoping for more like $250 though, only $150 difference instead of a device twice as powerful doesn't seem worth it. =\

WOW did not know you could buy refurbs. I had to call Apple and ask about them.

I am impressed. $170 less than the 3G 32Gb I am looking at. I can take a refurb and save $170.

Called squaretrade and they say they will issue warranty with no issues.:)

I got mine for $529.00 plus free overnight shipping. Considering the nearest Apple store is over 150 miles away I couldn't pass up such a great deal.:)

Bought a used 64gb 3g on craigslist today for $445...and it has a grandfathered sim in it and I now have unlimited data. I will be reselling the ipad on eBay (without the sim) and buying the 2nd gen 16gb 3g. The difference should score me the leather case as well.

Unfortunately not. As soon as you change the data plan billing to your card you loose the unlimited plan. It has nothing to do with the physical SIM.

iOS devices have a 2 year support cycle.

Wow, you high? $250???

Congrats its really a great device and its current price. Its an awesome deal.

Will the Apple store match the $349 refurb? If so, I'll get one now.

Worked for me. I met the woman and we went in and changed the billing info and the change went through just fine. I then went to the screen where you can change your plan and the unlimited was still right there. As long as you have the old owners log in data, it can be done.
