Would love to see a black ceramic finish. If anyone ever seen the black ceramic interior accents of BMW’s (the ceramic upgrade option), that would be beautiful on the watch.

Yeah, I don’t own a ceramic model Apple Watch, but the black ceramic when they did offer it, was a really nice color. Not sure why they only brought back the white ceramic, maybe they will re-introduce the black ceramic. My guess is that the manufacturing probably has something to do with it, but I agree that black ceramic has a really unique appeal.

Have any of you guys ever been asked what material your AW is made from? I know I haven’t but plenty are interested in the fact you’ve got an AW in my experience.
At this point, so many people around here (Cincinnati) have Apple Watches that no one is interested in the fact that I've got an Apple Watch, let alone what material it's made from.

I have only ever bought aluminum. It's light and cheap, both things I value as a runner. If you gave me a SS Watch, I'd sell it and buy an aluminum.

Was there black ceramic? I thought it was gray?

The ceramic non-white was not very close to black, more like a shade or two darker than the space grey on the imac pro. Against white skin it was meh to ok. olive color or brown skin it looked very nice.

The white popped and was fun to match with bands and outfits.

I love my white ceramic. Now a truly black ceramic would look very very sharp

I’m guessing they’ll bring the grey ceramic back either in Spring to mix it up or with the Series 6.

SS and Ceramic to wear
AL for any type of activity.

I dislike the AL finish but a space grey Nike serves its purpose

I’ve seen Titanium rings and to me the material has a flat, dull look, more like lead than like aluminum.

Judging from pictures and videos, The Ti Watch is indeed right in the middle – less shiny and flashy than the Stainless Steel but also not as matte and dull as the Aluminium. If I was in the market for a new Watch, I would take a very close look at the Titanium.

wrong. you would be quicker to confuse the SS black with Ti black, than TI black and alumnium black.
TI black is waaay darker than aluminum black.
It’s a watch. It’s worn on your wrist. Often hidden behind long sleeves or in motion because it’s on your wrist. The average person won’t be able to determine that it’s Ti because it’s 3 shades darker lol

Haven’t done that in the last 5 years with any of mine. Not real world for me lol
If you can get though life without ever hitting or rubbing your wrists against various objects throughout the day, unconsciously, then I’m doing something wrong. I case and screen protect my Aluminum S4 and it looks worse than my wife’s uncased, unprotected S4 Hermès. Lol

Anyway, if you’re more worried about what people will think is on your wrist then what you actually have along with the benefits that come from that material (weight, strength), then the problem isn’t with the watch lol.

I have researched videos and images of the Titanium models and they all look like the aluminum models. Especially the Space Black Titanium model which is almost indistinguishable from the Space Gray aluminum model when I look at pics and videos of it.

Only when the image is zoomed in you can see the brushed texture of the titanium. I’m not going to spend $849 (44mm) when it looks like a $449 aluminum watch.

I decided to go with the Stainless Steel model as that looks more premium then the titanium model and more distinguishable.

Edit: I called Space Gray aluminum black.

It's laughable people who spend all this extra money for a product that will be quickly out of date and eventually barely usable due to software/hardware limitations and battery deprecation.

It's not about whether it looks like a Space Gray to other people. It's that it looks like a Space Gray to me and it's several hundred dollars more. I see no point in buying that when you could have the same look for cheaper. I was interested in seeing the black titanium at first, but it just doesn't look different enough.

Just curious, has anyone here actually seen them side by side up close and in person?

Titanium is supposed to have a brushed satin finish. Aluminum is a dull/matte textured finish.

Why is that laughable? Some of us prefer to spend money on higher quality products. What’s your concern? You’re not in my will.

What’s laughable is that you’re worried about other people’s money and what they do with it.

Go bang them both against a wall a few times, then rub the screens on a lightly abrasive material and observe the results. Then tell me there’s not enough difference between the two lol.

Some people like to do this at the Apple store...see which one gets you more bang for your buck

The problem with the ceramic apart from cost is that it can also looks like ur wearing a gen 3

Bang for my buck? Would be a combination of the higher quality, more durable, better looking material.

Im on an S4 Aluminum right now and it’s crap. The screen is blemished on the edges from putting on and removing TPU cases. I could’ve gotten the SS and I opted not to because I was going to case it anyway. Talk about irony because the cases caused the blemishes. Going SS or Titanium next. Still undecided.

You must be doing something wrong lol. After years of wearing nice watches I’ve got a subconscious method of not banging my watches against hard objects. My 3 year old Apple Watch is in good condition with only a few hairline scratches on the screen and one or two tiny marks on the case. It’s about to sit in a drawer for 20 years now though as I’ve ordered a new watch. No point spending big bucks on a smart watch to keep it pristine when it’s a throwaway gadget.

I still think the titanium is easily mistaken for the aluminium from the pics and videos I’ve seen. I can’t quite believe it’s £100 more than the already overpriced stainless version too! Ouch.
