Did everyone end up with the ipad of their choice?

The guy in front of me got the last black AT&T 32gb ipad 2. All they had was white so I settled for a 16gb AT&T 3G. I do have a 32gb on order though. I was originally going to cancel the order if I got what I wanted in store. I talked to the manager and he said just take the 16 for now and return it when I get my 32gb. Debating if 16 is still enough.

I waited for about 3 hours at the San Tan Village store in Chandler, AZ. About 2 hours in the employees came to my part of the line and said that we likely wouldn't be getting iPads. I decided to hang around and see.
I could tell that as I neared the front of the store that supplies were running low and the end was near. A lot of folks were coming out of the store empty handed. They made an announcement that they only had a few 16GB Wi-fi models left in each color. When it was finally my turn and an employee came to get me I told him exactly what I wanted and we headed to the back. On the way we passed a couple of employees and one said to my guy in a very annoyed tone, "I'm waiting for them to decide....still." it turns out some folks had been in the store a while playing with the demo units and not being decisive, which was good for me since I got the last black model while they were deciding!
I made up my mind in line that I would've splurged for the 32GB model if it was all they had left, but I was hoping for the base model. Everything worked out (just barely) and I am an extremely happy camper. This thing is amazing.

7 1/2 hours in line insured me the model I wanted as I was sixth in line.
I was going to wait till maybe 1pm to line up and the wife said, "You want to wait 4 hours and not get the one your want, or perhaps none at all, or do you want to get your butt up there, wait longer but be sure to get the one you want?"
She was right.

Wanted 32GB Black VZW 3G. No Black 32GB 3G for either VZW or ATT ever arrived in stock.
Settled on 64GB. Would not boot up so took a white 32GB. Hate white. Will return as soon as I can find a Black 32GB 3G.

I was the 10th in line of about 400 if not more and I got the last 64GB Black ATT. My older sister and brother in-law both had to get whites but they weren't entirely sure which one they wanted yet anyway. 64GB black was very understocked.

Wifey got a surprise upgrade, she was wanting the 32g white wifi and walked in 5th at target and they had 5 white wifi's but all 64g, so she nabbed it.
I on the other hand waited at BB for 3 hours before they so "graciously" told us they had no 64g's nor any 3G, bet ya can guess what I wanted? (black)
So after we got the one for her at Target, for kicks I called to see if walmart had any left, they had one 64g wifi black...so I grabbed it...I really wanted the 3G and I'm still debating what to do...haven't unboxed it yet til I decide...so been hoggin the wife's.
Was it just me, or did it seem like apple shipped a disproportionate amount of 64gs to the misc retailers like walmart,target,Verizon and AT&T stores, but more heavily supplied the 16 and 32s to BB and apples stores?
If intentional, they got me to upgrade, but one I feel dirty,lol

Showed up at Best Buy around 3:15pm and got exactly what I wanted. A black 64GB Wi-Fi. Reservation ticket said 4/10. I heard they had somewhere around 75 iPad2s to begin with.
Showed up at 2:30 pm and was approximately 30th in line @ BB and got what I wanted which was an white 64gb wife + 3g AT&T model
I was shooting for a 64 Gig black AT&T model, but had to go with the Verizon one instead as they ran out of AT&T ones. I was planning on swapping my SIM as I had a grandfathered unlimited plan, though the Apple rep helping me suggested that the grandfathering was unlikely to last a great deal longer. Either way I couldn't purchase an AT&T one anyway, the rumor just made me feel a little better about it.
There's no evidence to support that the plan is going away, why would you risk losing that great plan just because you'll have to wait a little while for an AT&T one?
If you haven't cancelled your old plan, I would suggest returning the new one.
I ended up getting a 3G 32gb verizon. I wanted just a plain 32 wifi. But promised my son I would give him my 1st gen. So i went ahead and got it... you could here a loud "yes!" in the store. I'm happy with my decision, now I can play on long car trips while the wife drives. So far its a great compliment to our ever expanding digital world.
