For me, it at least postponed me from buying a samsung galaxy s2. I really didn't think Apple was going to do anything software wise that was better than what android has now. And yes iOS 5 was all catch up but icloud was impressive to me. Syncing my iPhone and iPad is going to be much easier.

I'll stick with my 3GS a little while longer, and pray that the next iPhone has at least a slightly bigger screen and if not I'll see how the competion compares.

Well, Im sure the next gen iPhone will bring some AMAZING hardware features, because if it doesn't then whats the point of upgrading?

To answer directly, no. I'm elgible for an upgrade, but I'll wait until something AMAZING comes along. And...an 8 megapixel camera isn't it.

While I'm excited for the software update, I'm not really sold on the new iPhone due to be released.

I'll hang on to my 4 until next year when we might get a whole new design.

haha , alright. But what makes you think that Apple doesnt want to crush the upcoming Android competition with a new iPhone 5 or 4S or whatever sometime this year?

I don't expect the iPhone 5 to have AMAZING hardware features. Hopefully LTE, and maybe A5 but overall I think Apple's MO is small incremental updates.

Because the mindless sheep will buy dog crap if it had an apple logo plastered on it.

Thats true, but the "mindless sheep" will wake up one day if Apple just adds some crap instead of usefull features. Apple has a hit on their hands with the iPad and iPhone , and I am SURE that they are doing anything they can to keep that hit as long as possible.

They haven't yet, just look at the iPad 2. A nice device to be sure, but when compared to the iPad 1, there's not much difference. Yet the sales of the iPad 2 were phenomenal

Well, I believe the iPad 2 did allow for some awesome apps that we might not have seen yet. New processor, more power bla bla. But alright , Apple might not drastically renew their products every time, but nor do other companies imo.

I qualify for an upgrade in just over two weeks from now. I love my iPhone 4 and would love to continue my annual iPhone upgrade that has been tradition since 2007. However, with the iPhone 5 supposedly coming later this year in September or so, I'm conflicted with upgrading then or just holding off until iPhone 6.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what iPhone 5 has to offer.
