Same boat. I actually mine on June 9 on the Apple website. In my case, fedex is the problem. I kind of torn, in general I agree with labman that lucky not to have bigger problems. What is also annoying is that my local apple store has them in stock.

Ordered on the 10th. Was told delivery on the 19th. Current tracking says 22nd. I am not all that suprised. However, unlike others I still have my old iPhone.

I agree with you labman, obviously it's fairly petty in the scheme of things. but like Jackson Dan said it's just frustrating as in I would have swung by the store if I knew I wouldn't get my phone yesterday (ie instead of ordering online). I guess what it really comes down to is the difference between a promise/assurance and a guarantee. I was under the impression apple was guaranteeing delivery on the 19th to all but in retrospect there's mo wording of guarantee, just lots of assurances and prints of "delivered by 19th"... who knows, in te past apple has been absolutely astounding with customer service for this kind of thing, which gives me hope that they will come through again here... however from the correspondence/emails I've recieved thus far i don't think anything will end up coming of it this time...

I feel like you guys are all forgetting something:

On Apple's iPhone 3GS page it said "Order now and have it delivered by the 19th".

Who cares what the email tracking number said, or debate the semantics of it being a promise vs guarantee?

"Order now and have it delivered by the 19th" - this was prominently displayed on Apple's website for everyone to see.

Yes, I feel you deserve something, I know that if I hadn't received it by the date the site advertised, I would have felt I deserved something, even if that something were absurdly small.

I guess I'm just flustered. Apple was promising all the preorders to arrive on the 19th were they not? The knife in the heart was the email from Apple reassuring that it should be delivered on the 19th. Then the subsequent email saying sorry it wasn't.

Did anyone else not recieve their preorder?

"knife in the heart" eh?

I'm sorry you didn't receive your phone and perhaps a small gesture in the name of customer services would be reasonable, but don't you think you're being just a little melodramatic there? The sun still came up this morning after you failed to receive your phone yesterday right?

Because people want something....so what was actually said does in fact matter.

It wasn't guaranteed just by what YOU ALL have posted (I haven't seen the exact statements so maybe I am missing something).

I agree on the sentiment that thereshpild be some sort of acknowledgement beyond a "oh we saw that you didn't get delivery... sorry." email. like you said it was widely publicized that delivery would be by the 19 if you preordered.

I just don't know how to go about it. I called ups and all they knew was what my tacking number said. the guarantee was from apple not ups right? I tried calling apple but had to leave the house before I could get on with a representative. of anyone had any updates on their own situation post it up!

Did you lose money through your business because of this? Also sounds like the shipper didnt get it to you. I think your looking for something out of nothing.

Man, I swear some of you work for Apple. False advertisement IS illegal folks ..

hey bud I've already admitted in several posts it's not that big a deal, but rather I'm just seeing if there's anything to be done. so how about you don't be a dick.

well....

Guess Apple doesn't control time and space after all.

In other news, dozens of Iranians killed, hundreds injured. Iranian secret police rounding up the injured and taking people into custody. Real torture.
Not the water in the nose to answer a few questions from mass murdering terrorists leaders.

A little perspective helps. Yes, I managed to snag one from the local AT&T. Sympathize but no, not a guarantee.

What else did mommy say you were entitled to?

As someone who has dealt with false advertisement lawsuits before....I gotta ask, are you actually claiming Apple was involved with false advertisement? I mean, I had some long drawn out response about how ridiculous that was but I figured I would ask just to be sure.

i just don't understand people who come in here to pick a fight.

First I dont work for apple. Swcond if you attended the the real USC in CA. you might learn something about false advertisement and what that really is. Its the apple kids like you that give the iphone a bad reputation instead of the pretty decent phone it is.

DiamondMac just keep in mind he is a young kid and has no idea what he says. He is just trying to see how he can get him some of that 500+buck money thar in South Carolina.

d:rolleyes:
