For those of you who bought a new Aluminum MacBook, what did you get? 2.0 or 2.4? No reasons, no justifications, just an informal poll of who bought what.

Thanks!

2.0

I also have a Mac Pro. I don't need that kind of power, but my wife is a digital photographer, so she does. I'm a pastor, so I don't need much. email. itunes. web. word processing. I figure if I need a powerful computer, I'll use the Mac Pro.

2.4 cuz that's how I roll
That and I wanted the backlit keyboard and 250GB stock HDD (store only had stock models)

2.0 because there's such a small perforamce difference, plus im getting the latest model in late 09 anyhow ;) I don't like computers older then a year.

I got the 2.4, there was no choice... due to me winning £1000 worth of PCWorld vouchers, so it only really cost me £150....as you see, no debate!

2.0. I was gutted I never got the 2.4 BUT I ended up getting a 24" monitor a few days after I purchased the 2.0 MB. So, in essence, I have my MB closed and hooked up to my dual monitor. My main reason to going with the 2.4 was the keyboard but now that I have it connected to my Dell monitor - I use the Apple Wireless Keyboard ;) - it rocks.

2.4 for me, my imac was 2.4 so thought id match it up. They backlit keyboard was another plus for me, i never had a laptop with that feature before and the first time i used it i knew i had made the right choice :)

2.4 for me. Mainly because I intend to keep this 'puter for a while, and I wanted to future proof it as much as possible. The backlit keyboard was another factor.

I don't understand this future proofing argument. The two processors are from the same family and benchmarks have shown there is a marginal difference in performance between them. Certainly not something you'll notice in every day use.

I got the 2.0 model because Apple wanted £200 more for the 2.4. I have much better things to spend £200 on than a slightly better processor and a couple of LEDs under a plastic keyboard.
