Bought the 2.0 for the following reasons.
1) Price raised on high end model
2) Not worth the extra 300 bucks.
3) Performance is about the same
4) Money tight

2.4
Reasons:
1. Had the $$
2. Education Discount
3. Saw backlit in action, had to have it
4. 21st Birthday gift for meself (went all out)

Had a previous 1.66 machine and a jump to 2.0 wasn't much as a jump to 2.4 was, and I want to future proof my Mac as much as possible.

2.0

i already had a 250 GB hard drive sitting on my desk waiting for action and the extra $300 is a good start towards my next mac

i touch-type, so the backlit kb wasnt a huge deal to me, other than looks

2.0.

I didn't need the keyboard (never look at it anyways). Plus, the $300 saved is nice for peripherals.

2.4...would have purchased a pro if it came in 13 inches. I wanted the fastest laptop possible at the size I wanted. So here we are.

Bingo
plus i got a display model that was there for a week, 100.00 off. No tax (military) so i saved another 7% on top of that.
ended up at like 1350 for the 2.4....figured why not.
Plus i need a 13" to fit in all my camera bags...or else id have a pro

I got the 2.4 as that's what my last macbook was. LOL I never realised that they only put the backlit keyboard on the 2.4 model. Naughty Apple, would be interested to know if all the circuitry and even the LED's are installed on the 2.0 model but just not activated!?

I went for the 2.4 because of a student discount.

If I could've afforded it, I would've gotten a lower-end MacBook Pro, but I'm still happy :)

I bought a 2.4 model and owning that baby for two weeks now and she still keeps me happy :D

2.4 - really wanted the the lit keys. Simple as that.
AND i plan on keeping it for a while, so I didn't mind getting the high end.

2.4 for me :) got mine for only 800 bucks CAD...dad paid the rest (graduation present)

also had to get the backlit keyboard, processor upgrade was nice, but not a factor, larger stock hard drive is kinda nice too so i dont have to spend for another drive too soon

2.0 is good enough for me

I don't really need anything more than 2.0. I was consider a MBA, but the 2.0 in my AluMacbook is so worth the savings... haha I know ironic, you pay less and you get more. I was personally shocked they didn't drop the price of the MBA at the laptop event, I have a feeling it willget a good sized drop sometime next year, possibly as early as MWSF '09.

got the 2.0 which down here in NZ costs $2399:eek:, which for a cheap ass student like me is a lot of money. Wanted the 2.4 for the keyboard but wasn't willing to pay another $400 for it.

I got the 2.0 model because Apple wanted £200 more for the 2.4.

This means I have £200 to put towards my new Canon EOS 450D rather than on than a slightly better processor and a couple of LEDs under the keyboard.;)

2.0

Although id love to have a backlit keyboard,
the difference between the 2 alu MB is really big here (€320~$400)
and i couldnt afford it.
