I almost went for a white, but my hair colour taints anything like that pink :eek: went for a blue and will swap my large strap for hubbys black

No, I wanted the 42mm stainless with brown Leather Loop. I live in Germany and when I went to order at 9:01am it showed 4-6 weeks delivery time from the start.

Instead I ordered the 42mm stainless with classic black buckle. Then I just went back and ordered the brown leather loop separately. Now both show delivery around 4/24-5/8.

Kinda had to spend an extra 160 EUR to get it on launch day (maybe) :(

Bit the bullet and went with ss. I knew I would be jealous if I see one later.

Ended up with what I planned. 42mm classic buckle with an additional sports band. Toying with the idea of a silver melanaise loop band as well, but holding off for a while.

Well, I was not to buy Apple Watch all together, than I thought I'll buy 38 Sport in space Gey, but after visiting Apple Store today, I've ordered SS 42 mm instead. Delivery date on mine is 24th so I'm happy.

How long ago did you make a firm decision on what you were going to get? Did you change your mind a lot before then? Did you actually buy what you said you were going to? Did you trade up or down because of availability issues?

I made up my mind seconds before falling asleep last night and deleted the 38mm out of my favorites. I had been decided on the 38mm for some time as I think that huge watches look ridiculous. Though, after I stopped being lazy and got the pebble out of the drawer and looked up the dimensions I changed my mind to the 42mm. The pebble is bigger in every way than the apple watch (the original pebble) and I simply didn't care for the height of the pebble but got used to it.

So in the end I decided to blinded buy the 42mm since it is all around smaller than my pebble watch (only .1mm shorter but still)

EDIT: and i just scheduled an appointment to go try one on even though I made the 24th shipment when I ordered. Im so excited to try one on!

I sort of did. I ended up ordering the 38mm SS with the white sport band and then the link bracelet separate. I did this cause to buy with the link bracelet would be 4-6 weeks whereas with the sport I'll get it between the 24th and May 8th. This way I'll have the watch and the link bracelet will come sometime after that. Also ordered an extra cable and will buy AC+ once I have the watch.

Was really looking for the black Sport with black band. But went with the nice and classy SS with black classic buckle #

Ended up ordering 2.
Space Grey with black band
SS with black band

Will let the opposing voices in my head duke it out then return 1. The SS sure looks nice with the other bands though. Love that blue leather loop.

By the time Apple allowed me to order (web version was not live at 3:00am, so I ordered via my phone at 3:10am), all of the models I wanted were 4-6 weeks. So I ordered the 42mm SS w/ black sports band. If the space grey 42mm with white sports band was shipping earlier, I would have went that route.

Yes, yes I did.

No - after the event last fall I thought I'd get a Sport and leave it at that. I flip-flopped in the couple months following and even after the Spring event I thought maybe I'd get the Stainless Steel with the link bracelet or the Milanese Loop. I didn't finalize which one I'd get until Wednesday.

I ended up going with the 42mm Apple Watch w/Black Sport Band. I'll try on some other bands at an Apple store appointment and if there's one I really like I'll order it separately. Gruber's comment about the Sport Band being comfortable/nice made that an easier decision.

Yep....I ordered the white 38mm sports model. I was torn between it and the white SS model. Figured I would see how well I liked this one and may buy SS model on next upgrade.

Was changing my mind until the moment I clicked the Apple Pay button (couldn't decide on size, and wasn't sure if I should just go with the Sport model). Settled on 42mm SS Milanese.

Yup I got the exact one I had decided on not long after they released the prices. Good size from the test ones I printed and I like the color. Not too showy cause I don't like to show off that much.

I initionally wanted the SS42 Space Grey w/SS link...but my wallet and senses spoke up and I ordered a Space Grey Sport w/black band.
At $399 I won't feel so bad when I replace with the Apple Watch Air next year!

  • I started off with 38mm sports - "didn't want to invest in gen 1 and don't like large watches"
  • I then decided I should invest in a nice one as I'd be wearing it every day and need to really enjoy it, regardless of it being gen 1. Was going with modern buckle or classic buckle.
  • Did cardboard printouts and wife instantly told me 38mm was too small, so I changed to 42mm with Leather Loop
  • Saw The Verge review with the Leather Loop and didn't like the look of it at all - the leather looked plain and plasticky and even the Stainless Steel didn't look that great to me. Reviews in general sobered me up from my state of hype and I decided to go back to sports to save the money as I couldn't really justify it in the cold light of day. Decided on 42mm space grey sports

And that's what I ordered - 42mm space grey sports. Also got the wife 38mm sports green which we could afford now I wasn't buying the SS watch.

All the negative reviews don't encourage me to spend $699 on a watch, so I bought the sport model, which was my original choice anyway :D
