This was the messiest preorder ever for me. I received an error trying to order through IUP, and then received a screen saying my phone was reserved and I would receive an email within 24 hours to complete the order. Only problem was the email I have on file is an old that I no longer use and have no idea what my password is.

I kept trying to get through with the IUP, but had 0 luck. By 4 am, I finally tried ordering through the Verizon payment plan. Luckily, it went right through and I will be picking up my phone at the Apple Store after work next Friday. It almost seems too good to be true considering the time it took to get through. I hope it was all worth the 2 hours of sleep I got.

I did the preapproval for IUP to save time. That backfired. My iphone’s Apple store app never updated when the store went back online. I rebooted my phone and reinstalled the app. Nothing for a good 10 minutes. Then when it worked I was only able to get the black when I really want the silver. Maybe I can switch in store.

It really sucks how once you preapprove you are tied to buying from your phone.

Yes, agreed. This sucked. I preapproved on my iPhone and the app kept giving error messages. Then, I tried on my iPad in the browser and that backfired — it said I had to finish on my phone which wasn't working. Eventually it did go through on the app, but my ship date slipped to November 17-24.

My answer is both no and yes:

Initially waited for app store or web site to come up first. Contrary to past years, web site came up first but not until almost 10 minutes after. Ordered t-mo 256gb silver w/2-3 weeks delay. Went to bed not so happy, so would answer NO for this order.

Got up around 6:15, decided to check t-mo's website for the hell of it, was very surprised to see 64gb silver still had November 2-3 ship date so ordered on there. So, answer is YES for the t-mo direct order.

Now just fingers crossed it actually ships then.

The easiest preorder I have done - iPhone 6 plus the hardest by far (Yes I yearly buy the iPhone since the 4s model preorder)

Verizon app opened up early - I was in at 1153pm and I checked out about 1155pm. Verizon email received at 1159pm.

I wanted a Silver 256gb Verizon - and the delivery date is launch day 11/3/17.

I had both the apple store and vz app up - vz went live first but I had to manually type in my credit card number.

I’m happy with the 2-3 weeks date that I got, in the UK it can be difficult but I was online and ready for when the store went up.

The ability to order through either site is the advantage of not doing the iPhone Upgrade Program. I initially felt like doing IUP was going to be an advantage every year... but that really doesn't seem like the case.

Nope. Apple's app store screwed me over and it cost them a sale. I'll stick with my 7 until next year.

I was on the fence on color but when Verizon went live, I went ahead with a silver 64gb. Mainly because here wasn’t as much demand for that model and I knew I had a better chance. I tried through the Verizon app at first and it wouldn’t load. So I took to my iPad and went to their website. It was slow but it got my order in and I got 11/3 delivery.

IUP, did the pre-approval a few days ago. Opened the app at 2:01am(central time), still showed the store was down. Kept closing and re-opening the app. At 2:07am I was able to complete my order, got a November 3rd delivery to my home. iPhone X 256GB, Verizon.
After I did that, I went back in to the store app and ordered an Apple iPhone X leather case, will be delivered on 11/1, so 2 days before I get the phone. All set!
