I did, but this is the first time I've bought a phone that cost more than $500 (got a base 128GB 13). Also the older phones I could fix myself cheap - replaced the screen on my 8+ myself, and twice on my old iPad 2, once on my iPad mini. The OLED screens are way more expensive - like $250-$300 vs $40 IPS LCD on the the 8+. I figure about a 50% chance I'll whack the screen on this one sometime in the next 2 years, so seems like a good investment.

I get it, but pay monthly. Not a massive outlay each month and could potentially save you much, much more and saves you hassle as well. Will be opting for the theft & loss version this year though.

I buy it every year with every phone and then when it’s time for a new one I cancel it get it refunded well prorated and onto the next one

My understanding is that if you pay monthly for AppleCare you can keep it as long as you own the phone or at least more than two years.

I got it. With the value of these phones nowadays it’s like carrying a laptop around, so I went for AppleCare theft and loss as well. Gives me piece of mind over anything else.
£9.95 a month.

You can pay for the two years up front and then you’ll get the option to continue paying monthly after the two years.

I got it for my 13 Pro Max but cancelled it this morning as I just can't decide! I always get it every year but have never ever used it. I am very careful with my iPhones and usually have them in the Apple Leather Case. As for theft, I now work from home and when I do go out I always have the phone in a front jean pocket where I can feel it. I never ever leave it on a coffee table, even when I'm sat right there. So...I am undecided. I still might go for the monthly option even though it works out more expensive in the long run....I don't know....

We have 11 lines on our business plan, and never buy insurance or applecare, amazing all these years never had an incident, so I figure with all the money I have saved, even if I have to pay full price for a repair, I am still ahead of the game.

Am I right in thinking Apple stores will give AC customers better in-store support if a fault develops, ie they're more likely to attempt a fix before giving up and sending off to the experts?

UK-based if it makes a difference.

If you’ve got Apple Care in the UK they shouldn’t be sending it off to anyone. You’ll be leaving the store with an as new replacement less the deductible if they can’t fix a fault on site.
