'V' Cancelled...

Shucks. We'll probably never get to see how Marc Singer's return to the franchise plays out. At least Jane Badler got to play Diana again, and did a wonderful job with the material given her.

The various plots were getting a smidgen farfetched, although not as badly as the original full-season series, from what I've heard. (That last phrase does not count the two miniseries, of course.)

Maybe NBC could find it in their hearts to let the producers release a wrap-up miniseries-- a reasonable request, since the original miniseries were successful. Two one-hour shows: One to show how Project Ares snaps humanity out of Bliss, and the other to show the final Visitor invasion via the Concordia centers.

Not one of the big three, but FX cancelled "Lights Out". Really disappointed especially after they cancelled "Terriers". One of my favorite shows. Dang it.

Chicago Code, couldn't get into it. As soon as I hear it was from the guys who did the "The Shield" I had to give it a go. But it never quite materialized for me.

Americas Most Wanted cancelled.

**** My Dad Says was canceled too. So that's 2 new shows I liked that got canned. Great.

And yet Bob's Burgers lives on to see another season. The world isn't fair.

Was Marc Singer really coming back?

It's a shame this one couldn't stick around. I remember watching the original series and mini-series when I was a kid and was excited they were going to give it another go. And definitely excited to hear that they were bringing Jane Badler onboard. She was awesome on the original.

The episodes for this season are still sitting on my DVR, as I was afraid this would happen. It's tough getting invested in a series and then BAM, it's gone. Jericho and Dollhouse to name a few...although props to CBS for trying to wrap up Jericho. I would like to see a wrap-up with V as well, but it would probably take a huge campaign from the fans as it did with Jericho.

Yes, he was. I don't want to spoil the season finale for you too much, but Singer indeed makes a cameo in it. He's hard to miss, and he has a speaking part.

I have both the original miniseries and "V: The Final Battle" on DVD, so yeah, I was excited about the revamp.

'Blue Bloods,' 'Hawaii Five-0,' and 'Mike & Molly' Renewed

I'm possibly the only one here with the following opinion: I'm glad 'Mike & Molly' survived. My wife and I watch it together. For her, it's a chance for us to watch a romantic comedy together; for me, it's a chance to watch a BBW on TV on a regular basis without her giving me flack. It's a win-win.

The Event and its viewers were going in different directions -- the show, up in quality; and the audience, down in quantity. Though it's still not a great series, it's become an interesting cross between 24 and The X Files.

Only a few episodes left. I hope they had an alternative ending filmed in case they got canceled. I want to see Sophia and VP Jarvis get what's coming to them.

This is very surprising. This has been a staple on the saturday night line up for a very long time. I wonder if Fox will receive a boat load of emails and snailmail to bring it back!
I bet the show gets picked up by TruTV.

If networks could get away with showing commercials all day long they would. The shows are just there so you see the commercials. The cheapest way to get the most eyeballs is what they are after.

We see commercials are filler for the TV shows, networks see the shows as filler for the commercials.

I couldn't get past Jennifer Beals as a police boss.

I couldn't stomach another episode after the first two. I suppose that I didn't really give it a good chance to get better.

I liked Outsourced, too. It's been cancelled... :(

I really enjoy NBCs comedies (30 Rock, The Office, Parks and Rec) but I just couldn't believe that NBC thought that premise would work. With globalization and the current state of the economy, no one, IMO, wants to watch a show based on those factors/ conditions/ etc... Especially not a 'comedy'.

EDIT:

The only show I'm still waiting on is 'The Good Wife' though things for that look pretty good as I've read several of the actors have signed contracts for another 2-3 seasons.

I'm more than pissed that 'Mad Men' won't be back until Spring 2012.

The outsourcing was just the setup. Most of the show revolved around making fun of the cultural differences between Americans and East Indians and they came up with some funny characters.

I'm gonna miss it. Plus I work with someone who looks and acts like Gupta

Does anyone know the status of The Biggest Loser? I don't know why I watch that show(I'm underweight), but I find it to be fascinating tv.

8pm- 10pm on Tuesdays it looks like.

Source.

I just started reading Deadline.com a month or two ago; rather glad I added a TV/ Film blog to my daily reading routine.

Wow. What a bummer. Though I'd be really bummed if they brought Faye Grant back and I missed her. We watched the mini-series and the original series before the debut (the series is super cheap on DVD) and it's so funny to watch as an adult. Marc Singer was the king of overacting, but man it was entertaining.

Compared to the new series, the Visitors' "human skin" effects on the old series were somewhat cheesy...

...but I'll agree that the original miniseries were still quite entertaining. The original V handguns, and the sounds they made, were awesome.

I would have loved to have seen Michael Ironside get a cameo. Ironside played mercenary mastermind Ham Tyler in "The Final Battle". (He also played the evil Revok in the cult sci-fi film "Scanners.")
